Buckle Up
Traffic accidents and the resulting casualties are one of the major problems of urban communities in the world and accidents among the leading causes of death in the world are in the ninth place. Inadequate traffic control, the high number of injured and the lack of access to proper medical services, and the daily increase in the number of vehicles have been cited as influential factors in traffic accidents in developing countries. Lack of attention to safety principles is one of the reasons for the daily increase of accidents. Also, drowsiness, driving for long periods of time and off-lane driving causes fatal traffic accidents. People’s personality traits and stress levels are also involved in accidents. According to research, there is a significant relationship between high speed and extroverted personality and driver excitement. A phenomenon called “aggressive driving” is involved in the occurrence of accidents. Safety and standard road width, following traffic rules, not using drugs and alcohol, stopping in a state of drowsiness and fatigue can be effective in reducing accidents. In this way, the percentage of human-related accidents can be controlled and reduced in the future.
Due to the high number of traffic accidents, accidents can be reduced by making changes in the process of obtaining a license. It is necessary to examine the behavioral characteristics of the individual, which are influenced by various cultural, educational, social and economic factors. In this way, safe traffic behavior can be institutionalized in citizens. Due to safety equipment and road structure and the use of standard traffic equipment, accidents can be prevented. With careful and practical training, reforming the rules and treatment of mental illness and personality disorders in drivers, a safe route can be envisioned, and tragic driving accidents can be minimized.
One of the most common causes of death is car accidents, which often occur due to carelessness and carelessness of the driver. Car accidents, for whatever reason, will result in financial loss if they do not result in death or bodily injury. I remember one of my friends had an accident because of speeding too much and passing the red light and another car hit his car. He was in a rush to pass the light and since then he is scared to drive because he almost died. He had an injury on his back, neck, and arm. Since then, I have seen many accidents happening like this and because of that I always wait a few seconds behind the green traffic light to make sure nobody will pass. It seems that the best way to reduce traffic accidents in the future is education and culture building from the very beginning of school, because childhood is the most appropriate age for learning so that the training given is institutionalized in their minds. In order to have a law-abiding generation in the future, we must hold driving lessons and respect traffic rules at the elementary level from the very beginning or even before elementary school, so that they become familiar with this issue in life. To achieve this goal, it is possible to devote hours to teaching traffic laws in the weekly curriculum of schools, using experienced and capable staff, which will undoubtedly have a tremendous impact on the correct driving culture of the next generation.
Another human solution that can be effective in reducing traffic accidents is to be strict in issuing a driver’s license. Some driving schools are lenient in their driving training and exams and do not use the necessary sensitivities and strictures, which can be very effective in increasing traffic accidents and casualties later. After human factors, roads and highways, as one of the most important causes of road accidents, should be considered more seriously by the authorities and more prudent efforts should be made to create safe roads. Creating the required highways, installing surveillance cameras in them, and proper markings on the roads also play a very important role in reducing accidents.
One of the steps that we can take to be a better and safer driver is to maintain standard distance. Keeping the standard distance allows you to see reckless drivers or even a drunk driver before they get in your way and notice their behaviors. If you notice a car moving abnormally between lanes while driving at unusual speeds, keep your vehicle as far away as possible. One of the main places where drunk drivers usually have an accident is at intersections. Intersections usually have the most traffic signs and require high concentration to pay attention to these traffic signs. So, when you cross an intersection, make sure you pay enough attention to both lanes and always monitor the behavior of other drivers. Traffic police on many roads in the country usually try to test alcohol from offending drivers and drivers who behave unconventionally. If you encounter these police and traffic police along the way, try to treat them with respect. Uncontrolled behaviors and various failures in driving are very dangerous and not only for the vehicle, but also for other people in the community on the road. So, remember to always wear your seat belt and respect the rules and restrictions.
