Driver Education

Driving is a responsibility that is taken when one is beginning to take the wheel of a car, not only for yourself but the rest of the people who are surrounding you on the roads. There are many deaths that involve car accidents who are not careful and not responsible for how they drive. That is why it is important to educate yourself in the ways of driving. Many parents can afford to get their teenager to get a driver education class while others teenagers teach themselves. Being educated the right way can prevent future accidents either by a class or self taught. If taking classes make sure to pay attention and attend all classes required. If being self taught or parent teaching you make sure to follow along because at the end there is always a test that one needs to be able to drive the legal way. There are also signs that need to be obeyed while driving, such as the STOP sign that many drivers once in a while miss. Another sign is the WRONG WAY sign is also ignored when driving. These are signs that are missed by drivers and can cause major accidents on intersections or freeways. Not only signs are important but also the weather, debri, distracted drivers, under the influences and many more things can cause an accident on the road. I only been in one accident that was on the freeway with my father, mother and little brother. I was probably 15years old when it happened. We were going to Galveston to visit some family members and it started to rain. Everything was going well until my dad lost control of the truck and hit the inner wall of the freeway. We hit and the truck spinned(not flip) and stopped in the middle of the freeway. We were very lucky that there were no cars coming behind us at that moment and my father was able to drive towards the shoulder of the freeway. Thank god we came out of that accident with only bruises from the seatbelt. This was an accident of weather which caused my dad to lose control of the truck. Another accident happened to my mom when she was heading home from her job and she was hit by a drunk driver. The car turned on a red light and hit another car which caused that car to hit her. In this accident my mom came out unharm with only bruises but there was a death which was the innocent victim that was hit by the drunk driver. The drunk driver came out fine but his passenger got a broken leg. I believe this person responsible went to jail after all but it could have been prevented. Accidents like this always end up with innocent people dying or getting hurt. There are cases where the innocent victim ends up being hurt or dies while the one that caused the accident is ok but can end up in jail for not being responsible while driving. That is why it’s important to educate yourself in driving so there can be less accidents on the road. Being responsible also is a great way like getting a taxi, uber or even a designated driver if deciding to go to an event where there might be alcohol. Reducing the number of deaths on the road is not that hard to do but people have to be willing to acknowledge how to drive carefully. The internet such as google or youtube are good ways to educate yourself because they can provide great resources on how to. Educators and even parents are also a way to help to learn. There are different ways to educate yourself to learn how to drive. You just have to do your research in every aspect possible. To be ready behind the wheel one must be ready to take that responsibility because there are other people you need to share the road with. I have not started driving yet but I am preparing for the education I am going to receive either through my parents or a driving ed class. I know it’s not going to be easy but I am willing to learn to become a responsible person for myself and for the people on the road. Becoming a driver on the road is something that can be scary at first but with proper education and time i believe anyone can be responsible while sharing the road with others.
