Driver Education

A driver is in charge of the lives of those who depend on them for safety on a journey. Driver education is essential for ensuring the safety of people since it helps in ensuring the quality of the drivers. Therefore, making it a priority to go through driver education is highly beneficial to a driver as an individual and to all those who depend on the driver while ferrying them around in the vehicle. Driving calls for a deeper analysis of the rules and regulations of the road since it helps one become competent in driving matters (Williams, 2017), hence influencing positively the attitude of passengers who may be observing your driving. People should do it the right way and save a life.

Driver education is vital to the drivers and essential to even other road users like pedestrians. Therefore, one needs to undertake driver education to reduce the number of accidents and death resulting from accidents. Driver education is designed in a manner to inform all road users about vehicle safety. Based on the statistics, there is an increase in deaths resulting from accidents than many other causes of death in the united like wars (Ashraf et al., 2019), hence the need to be more careful. Sometimes war may not be controlled as it may be beyond control, but driver education can easily control deaths resulting from road accidents. Driver education enlightens and teaches on the rules and regulations of the road, even the laws that one would have missed on his own; this helps reduce the rate of accidents and hence reduce deaths on the roads resulting from poor driving habits. Driver education explains the issues that happen on the roads, giving drivers the ability to face eventualities with care and avoid accidents (Ashraf et al., 2019).

Several steps can be taken into consideration to reduce the number of deaths resulting from driving. Though they are not new, many people have continued to lose lives on the roads because of the failure of the drivers to consider them while driving. Therefore, it is crucial to make it a priority always to practice these steps to enhance safety while driving. Knowing the vehicle’s condition is very important as a driver; it allows you to understand the state in which the vehicle is and decide whether it can be used or not (Williams, 2017). It is crucial to check critical things like brakes, lights, and even engine oil whether it is still good or requires replacement depending on the expected mileage to be covered (Williams, 2017). Having this information will reduce the eventualities that may have occurred if not checked and corrected.

Having the right attitude and motive towards driving is very important and necessary in reducing the possibility of causing an accident (Yahia et al., 2017). Giving room for training by those who are well versed in driving and rules of the road makes it better for one to learn how to always keep safe on the road. While driving, it is essential to avoid all possible destructors such as mobile phones because driving does not work with divided attention; a huge disaster may occur within two seconds of lack of concentration (Yahia et al., 2017). It is important to ask someone else in a sober mind and state to drive rather than risk doing it yourself whenever drunk or feeling unwell. While on the road, as a driver, it is essential to be highly predictable by other road users; this involves having clear brake lights and always indicating whenever you want to make an exit (Yahia et al., 2017).

Though I have not had a firsthand experience in a road accident, neither has my family members; the accident’s impact is devastating and very severe even to our emotions and friends. I have seen friends who have been involved in an accident, and it is something I would never want to see again hence the need to have proper driving at all times with well-skilled drivers.

As an individual, I would always take responsibility to ensure safety on the roads through safe driving with utmost adherence to the rules and regulations of the road. I will always maintain a sober state whenever I am required to drive, leading as an example in buckling a safety belt as I encourage others also to have them on. To avoid accidents, I would always check the state of the car before embarking on any journey because the negligence of such may lead to extreme eventualities that would be easily avoided. Driving at night would only be done when it is the only option since many accidents happen at night due to poor visibility. Driving a vehicle with a manageable speed would be my priority in my pursuit of maintaining safety on the road because of the unpredictability of the road; an animal can easily jump onto the road and cause a fatal accident if the vehicle is at an extreme speed. Safe driving is the responsibility of every road user (Yahia et al., 2017). Therefore, we all need to do it in the right way and save a life in the process.
