Education is Important

Education is a very important thing no matter what you are learning about. Driver education is a very important class to take because you are taught the responsible way to act on the road and what dangers to look out for. Teens that take driver’s education are more likely to drive safer than teens who do not take the class. Many of the crashes that take place are teen related because they were too busy looking at a phone or a friend in the car. Driver’s education teaches teens the laws for the road and what safety measures to take. Teens who take the class are allowed to drive with the teacher in the car, so they get the experience of driving that teens who do not take the class do not get.

There are many ways to stay safe on the road, and none of them are difficult to do. One way to stay safe is to make sure your vehicle is in good shape and will not just quite while you are driving. Another way is to make sure you are well rested before a trip and that your mind is clear. You should put you phone away while you are driving so you are not tempted to look at it every time it goes off. If it is an important call, you should make sure you have somewhere that you can pull off the road to answer it. You should always obey traffic laws and stay away from alcohol and drugs.

I do not have my license yet or been in a car accident. I have seen family members drive irresponsibly many times. My sister-in-law is on her phone a lot when she is driving, she drives fast. My brother drives fast as well, but he always uses hands free for his phone because he connects it to the Bluetooth in his vehicle. Sometimes my dad will try to do too many things while he is driving such as opening a bottle of soda or putting tobacco in his mouth. My mom uses her phone while driving sometimes but she usually gives the phone to me to answer when a call comes in.

I can remind my parents of the laws and try to keep them undistracted. I can help my dad when he is checking the vehicles before each trip, so he doesn’t have to do it all alone. To be a better driver, I need to practice driving safely somewhere safe before I try to get my license. I can also go back over the laws many times to make sure I understand what is expected of me when I get on the road.
