The importance of drivers education

What is the importance of driver education in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving?

Driver education is a valuable resource it teaches new drivers the importance of the vehicle that we drive and the rules of the road.

Without drivers’ education, no one would understand how to operate a vehicle, nor would they understand how to follow the laws of the road.

Without drivers’ education, the roads will be in chaos, and it will lead to many fatal accidents.

  • What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving?

By requiring drivers education you allow every student to equally learn everything they need to know about the laws of the road, how to operate a vehicle, and how to drive in all conditions of weather.

It also teaches young drivers how to know if they are not fit to drive.

So they don’t drive right after taking certain medication, or if you are sick or have any injury.

It teaches the driver how to be responsible and safe while driving.

It also teaches the driver that driving is a want, not a need.

One thing I have noticed is that when a new driver gets comfortable they become irresponsible with their diving.

They no longer believe in speed limits, stop signs, etc.

Sadly it takes a serious accident or an expensive ticket before they take driving seriously.

  • Have you ever had an experience of being in a car accident or have seen your friends or family members driving irresponsibly?

I have never been in an accident before, but I have witnessed irresponsible driving before, with my family members, with friends, and with the people driving around me. I have noticed they have gotten too comfortable behind the wheel.

They do not understand that there can be consequences with irresponsible driving, so they push the limits on what they think they can get away with.

One very important lesson I have learned is that you should always be a defensive driver, always be aware of the people driving around you, and never be focused on things that have nothing to do with driving while you are driving.

A lot of people do not pay attention to the road while they are driving, there are drunk drivers, people under the influence of drugs, and people trying to impress others.

We have so many distractions nowadays there are so many accidents it is pretty normal to see an accident once every week while driving.

  • What steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road?

My big thing is being aware of everything around me, I always make sure I am in safe driving conditions before I leave to go anywhere,

I make sure I am not on any medication that will make me drowsy while I am driving, and I make sure before I even turn on my car that all passengers and myself are wearing seatbelts.

My biggest thing is safety and making sure that all passengers understand that when the driver is driving that the only thing the driver needs to think about is driving and not conversing with the passengers.

We as a community need to work harder to make all roads a safe place to drive, it is saddening to hear that there are so many fatal accidents that happen yearly.

We as a community even have to work hard to protect pedestrians that walk on the sidewalk and crosswalks every day, they should never have to worry about when they have the right of way to cross the road that some irresponsible drive isn’t paying attention to the road and probably looking at their phone, driving while intoxicated or just talking to their friends in the car, and will hit them.

There have been times I wasn’t paying attention and had people honk at me for not going at a green light, driving through red lights because I was zoned out, and rolling through stop signs because I didn’t slow down early enough.

I have been in situations where I would be behind people who didn’t go at red lights, people who drive through a red light in front of me because they aren’t paying attention, and people skipping me at stop signs because they didn’t slow down, and I realized how upset and irritated that got because people did things that I have done.

I am doing my absolute best to be the best driver I can be to be a great example to my younger siblings.
