Driving safely for everyone

Being safe on the roads is very important, especially in Alaska when it’s wintertime we must all stay safe together on the roads and be smart about it. In the winter, it’s crucial we all pay attention to other cars on the road because of the slippery roads that lie in front of us. No more speeding around corners because you never know who’s going to pop up around that corner and that’s for summer too not just winter we must be safe on the roads at all times of the year, we can’t predict what might happen in the near future as your driving on the road so it’s better to just play it safe instead. We need to teach ourselves to stay off our phones or at least pull off to the side of the road when it’s appropriate and necessary to do so, being on your phone is a huge distraction especially when you’re a teenager on the road but you absolutely don’t have to pick up that call or text the person who’s talking to you can wait your safety and focus needs to be on your driving right now, you start to become more sucked in on your phone instead of driving, then all of a sudden, there’s nothing. Some cars now have a built-in call feature so that’s a plus one for us too so we don’t have to have our neck’s restraint by our phone, when we are on our phone, we have limited ourselves to our own vision because we can’t move and are focused on keeping it still. Make sure you and others are taking the time to look back and forth and wait for cars to pass until you feel comfortable and ready to take your turn to cross the road yourself. You have to be alert in order to be able to predict what might happen ahead of you. Always look farther ahead on the road to make sure for sudden stops in traffic or an accident that has happened, you always don’t want to be so close to the other car, you never know when they will abruptly stop. If your the one driving and you’re not used to the distractions your aloud to ask whoever is in your passenger seat or behind you to kindly stop what they are doing it’s best to limit them anyway, I’ve been told by my parent’s and even driving instructor that it’s okay to be a nervous driver, we learn and adapt by our parents helping out in the long run. It’s your car and you’re in control of the environment that is YOUR CAR, your aloud to turn down loud music as well to lessen the distraction and keep focus because I know myself I rather drive in silence than rather worrying what others are saying, It makes you move away from the lane your in even for me from experience on the road, just by talking I can even lose my focus on where my hands are and you don’t even realize till it’s too late. Being safe on the road doesn’t stop there we must be safe even about our health especially if one of us have gone partying, It isn’t ever a good idea to try and drive home drunk, either get a cab to the place and plan on their arrival back or a trusted driver to bring you home especially a main designated driver in the group is a good idea too. If you don’t feel well, don’t drive, it’s better to feel awake rather than immediately drive once you wake up as well because we will feel drowsy. It’s best to wake up an hour before driving to feel more awake so you can get ready to drive to school. Road rage isn’t the best either if someone does something stupid that’s their problem and you shouldn’t have to deal with it, always keep a calm mind and just head on forward that guy can suffer from his own problems. All of this information is important to all of us, even as teens. We need to be safe on the road and respect the rules that we have to learn in order to drive. It’s no joke and important for everyone, especially if we have company in the back, remember to drive responsibly and make it safe for others. Makes it more fun for everyone and being cautious saves lives, also yourself.
