Every year more than 38,000 people die every year in crashes on U.S. roadways. This means that 38,000 people lose their lives which means 38,000 families are devastated. The importance of driver education in reducing the number of deaths as a result of driving is very crucial because they are many deaths that can be prevented for the most part. We need to teach people what is and what is not ok while driving, to create a safe enviroment. Being able to help people and their driving skills can be very beneficial in the long run. Teaching people how to drive creates a safe environment to drive in which can help save lives.

Some steps that can be taken to reduce deaths caused by driving, is making sure that the driver of any automobile is sober and is not intoxicated or under the influence . Second, the driver should not be distracted at all and pay all attention to only the rode and should not have a phone . Third everyone in the car should have their seatbelt on and if any child is in the car they should be in their booster seat. Another step that can be crucial to being safer while driving is making sure your car is up to date and it requires no help. And the last step that can be taken is watching your speed. Because although speed may be fun in the moment speed can kill people and your life can change in seconds.

I have been in at least 3 or 4 car accidents. Luckily none of them were fatal but the experiences weren’t so pleasant. I remember on one occasion I was in the car going to my grandma’s house because it was summer and I would stay there while my parents were at work, and we are going down a street and then suddenly a speeding car goes on a red light and it hits the car I’m in. The car was coming at a pretty fast speed but the impact of the crash reflected more on the other car due to it being smaller than the minivan I was in. This moment happened around when I was about 7 or 8. Another time that I was involved in a car crash my dad was exiting the parking lot by my grandma’s house and a factory worker that was parked nearby exited at the same time while being on their phone and ended up rear-ending the car me my younger sister, dad, and mom were in. This will be the last story about me being in a car accident, and now that I think about it it’s a very weird coincidence that all the crashes involved my grandma’s house, but with all that aside I was in the car with my dad and baby cousin. We were going to my grandma’s house because my aunt was there to pick up my cousin. But while on the way we stopped at a red light and got rear-ended by a car that just took off right after .

I have seen family members try to drive irresponsibly but they are quickly confronted and are told the negatives and what can happen while driving without being responsible. Remembering the cons of driving in a not-so-safe environment can be very effective in you not wanting to drive irresponsibly . Other steps that you can take to become a better driver is to make sure you understand what all the signs mean and know how to follow those signs. Because there are signs and lights everywhere that tell you what to do and where to go while driving. Another step is just having a clean, cool, and comfortable environment in your car you will be able to be a great driver. Make sure to always pay attention to the road and the vehicles around you. Being vigilant and cautious is very crucial to being a great driver.

In conclusion, driving education is very crucial to a person’s life and future and it should be taught in school to be honest. The way to travel from a destination to another destination at a great pace is by car which makes it an activity to partake in. Preventing deaths caused by cars can be easy if people were to follow rules. And those rules can become more common to people if they are taught to people in school. Because sometimes no one at home may be able to drive and teach how to drive.
