Guide to Safe Driving

Do you know of a relative or a friend that has gotten into a devastating car accident? In my life, I have experienced a traumatic car accident that has completely split my family apart . The death of my uncle in a car accident has been a very difficult situation for my family to get past and for this exact reason, my family emphasizes driving safely at all times.

The most important way in order to maintain a safe driving experience at all times starts by taking driving education classes and lessons. These often result in drivers being aware of many street laws like stop signs, yield signs, and many more. Not only this, but these classes will help you get driving experience with a driving instructor. The more a driver takes these classes seriously, the more likely it will be that that driver will not undergo a serious car accident.

The importance of driving education is extremely crucial in helping to reduce the amount of deaths in driving accidents. The reason for this is that it helps the driver gain the knowledge of how to take driving seriously and it also helps you with laws on the roads that need to be followed. Without a proper driving education, it is highly likely that this will result in a lack of knowledge on street laws, also resulting in fatal accidents.

The steps to be taken in order to reduce the number of deaths related to driving are simple and effective. Step one is to always make sure that all the passengers, including yourself, are buckled up. Being buckled up helps everyone inside the vehicle from a fatal car accident and can potentially save your life, so remember to always fasten your seatbelt! Step two is to make sure that you are not under the influence of any drugs that could potentially make driving more difficult for you. This will not only save other peoples’ lives, but could save yours. These are only some of the most crucial steps to take when getting behind the wheel. Following this and many more will ensure that you have a safe and fun driving experience.

It has been four years since I started driving and during that time, I have only gotten in one minor accident. This accident consisted of another driver not paying attention while being on the road and had her phone out. As I approached a traffic stop, I made my proper stop with enough time and space for the car behind me to make a safe stop. However, she was easily distracted on her phone and caused her to hit the back of my car. Luckily, I made sure to fasten my seatbelt and my brother’s and we didn’t experience a horrible accident. We learned through this experience that when you trust your own driving, you have to be cautious of others who don’t follow traffic directions.

In continuation, I have also experienced a traumatic accident that ran through my family since I was a little boy. I recall waking up for school one morning and my mom got a call. My aunt gave her the news that my uncle had passed away in a car accident the night before and I could remember the scream that came from my mom when she heard the terrible news. He was also going through a difficult divorce and was also drinking excessively at the time. This may have been one of the causes as to why this accident occurred. Since my family was living separately, I never got to meet my uncle as much as I would’ve wanted to. It really affected my family so deeply that till this day, we all visit his tombstone the same day that he passed away from us. For this exact reason, my family emphasizes safety when it comes to us being behind the wheel at all times.

When I drive, I really trust my own driving. I know my car very well and it responds to my commands. Once you, as a driver, understand your car and follow the law, it becomes really easy to drive. The next step to being safe on the road now is to watch for the other drivers on the road. Be responsible for your driving first and then look out for others that can be distracted while driving, those who make bad driving decisions, or those who break the law. Remember to focus first on controlling your own vehicle and then once you have mastered that through practice, look out for those bad drivers and remember to always have a sharp eye!

To further summarize, it is crucially important to have a proper driver education when you first begin to drive. As we move into more technology in vehicles that only makes us more prone to getting distracted, it is important to keep in mind everyone else’s safety as well as yours. People have to be aware of their surroundings when it comes to following signs and other reckless drivers. So next time you get behind that wheel, it is crucially important to keep yourself and others safe on the road and always follow street laws, they are made for a reason!
