People’s view on car safety is little weird when you think about it. Many people are scared of the airplanes. There scared that the airplane will crash or that they will victims of terrorist attack but nobody is scared of the cars.

Now airplanes move really fast and they fly really high while cars don’t move as fast and they are always grounded so if something goes wrong with one of them you would think that you’re in more danger if something goes wrong with flying vehicle, but when you stop and look at statistic that’s not true. Statistic show that traveling with a car is much more dangerous than with an airplane. In 2022 there were 12 fatal accidents with airplanes in the entire world resulting in 229 people dying, now that may sound like a big number and it is but in the same year 31785 people died in a car crashes in US alone and all these deaths happened in first 9 months of the year 2022. So number of people that die in car crashes per year in US alone is way way bigger than number of deaths that happen during airplane crash world wide and yet for some reason people still don’t take driving safety seriously. And as we see the number of dead show us how dangerous that carelessness is. The biggest reasons of car crashes are: over speeding, drunk driving, distraction of drivers, red light jumping, Avoiding Safety Gears like Seat belts and Helmets, Non-adherence to lane driving and overtaking in a wrong manner ect. These are the biggest causes of car crashes. Now one thing that would make the roads a lot safer is proper education for drivers about safety measures design to make cars safer. For example seat belts reduce the risk of death by a car crash by 45% and cut the risk of serious injuries by 50%. Seat belts prevent drivers and passengers from being ejected during a crash. People not wearing a seat belt are 30 times more likely to be ejected from a vehicle during a crash. If every driver would wear their seat belt that alone would reduce the number of people who died in car crashes by 45%, but sadly many people don’t know this life saving knowledge. Proper education would made streets a lot safer simply by teaching drivers how to take some basic safety measures. Now education alone won’t solve the problem, there are allways going to be irresponsible people who are going to cause trouble on the street but those who are responsible would take safety measures they learned from there education and they would make streets a lot safer. But what safety measures can even be done to make roads safer? Well we already talked about the seat belts but for the drivers of Motorcycles just by wearing their helmets they would reduce the risk of head or brain injury by 69%. Motorcycle driver could be even safe if they would wear the entire motorcycle suit that are specifically made to keep theme safe. All these safety measures are great in case the car crash even happens but it would be even better if we could stop car crashes from happening all together. Now that is impossible cuz accidents just happen, sometimes they can’t be prevented but with some safety mesures we could reduce the number of car crashes that happens. Now as i allready said in this esey the bigest causes of car crashes are irresponsible behavior of drivers like: over speeding, drunk driveing, distraction of drivers, red light jumping, avoiding safety gears like seat belts and helmets, non-adherence to lane driving and overtaking in a wrong manner. So if person has a dringing problen or has ricently comited some violent or irresponsible deeds that place other people in danger or damage the property of some people then it may be beats to take away or to not give that person a driving licence in the first place until that person has put it’s negative behavior under control. And it wouldn’t hurt to put driving skills of a person to the test form time to time. That way we could have a much lower number of bad and irresponsible drivers on the roads. But sometimes drivers aren’t responsible for accidents. A fuw years ago i was coming home from school and to get home i had to walk down this street that has a really narrow road. As i was walking one car was driving in front of me and another was coming from behind me. 2 cars were coming from both sides of the road. The road was really narrow and there wasn’t enough space for them to pass by each other. Neither one of the car was stopping but just before they hit each other one of the car moved to the side and hit concrete fence that was next to the road. Nobody was injured thankfully. Now drivers could have stopped moving, that would stop the crash all together but if the road wasn’t so narrow that situation wouldn’t happen in the first place. So better maintenance of the road could have stopped that accident. That’s another measure that could make roads safer. Now what measures do i take to be a better driver? Well i wear seatbelts, make sure i respect traffic rules and other drivers and i general i always strive to act responsibly. And one think we can do to help other people drive better is by spreading all information and facts about safety of drawing to other people. Like i did in this easy for example.
