2023 Drivers education
Drivers’ education is important for the prevention of serious car accidents and prevent future deaths on the road. Although, it is beneficial for everyone who is about to start driving for the first time take a driver’s education course. Everyone taking driver education are less likely to be involved in crashes or to receive a traffic violation during their first two to five years of driving. It al teaches individuals how to make a proper stop at a certain distance, put the blinkers when making a right or left turns, follow a proper speed limit on the road on a specific highway area. Majority of crashes are due to uneducated teen driving and now it is distracted drivers also.
These are some steps that can reduce the number of deaths. First and foremost, would be no drinking and driving. This is the highest rated cause of deaths. If you must go out and drinking is involved have a designated driver, take a cab, use uber or lyft. Get enough rest if I’m not mistaken the average person needs six to nine hours of sleep. Drivers’ education trainers may also say keep a one car length. I must say that if you forget anything else keep that in mind. If you’re tired don’t get behind the wheel. If you’re of the older age group try not to be out driving all day. There are devices on your car that are for safety such as turn signals, brakes, use them. If you know that your vision is not good at night then don’t drive. Perhaps you can ask a respected friend or family member to ride with you and evaluate your skills. Then, listen carefully to any observations they might have. You might also decide to take additional safe-driving course. Getting your car inspected or keeping up maintenance. Do not expect too much of others, try very hard to control any feelings of irritation because you’re not only driving for you but for everyone else that is on the road. The distraction of music now although there is nothing wrong with listening to music or news keep the volume to a minimal. You need to be able to hear what is going on outside your vehicle especially when emergency vehicles are trying to get to other accidents. Last but not least stay off the phones.
I have been in two car accident in all my 30 years of driving One was an irresponsible driver hit me while I’m sitting at a red light and then tried to run. I must say the one thing that kept me from hitting the car in front of me was. Adhering to what I was taught in drivers’ education and that is the one car distance. The other was driving during the fall season when wet leaves on the road and you think your tires are good and you find out that your tires are no good after you hit someone mirror. I have had a few members of my family receive a dui or ticket for traffic violations. I have seen people driving with eyes on their phone not the phone to their ear. The worse is someone driving in between lanes because they don’t want anyone to pass them and then the ones who are going in and out of traffic lanes. Those are the ones that you have to be careful of. They don’t care about anyone but themselves and don’t realize to care that they are being disrespectful to other drivers.
I have taken the steps of making sure I check my tires before I get in my car. I check my mirrors and put on my seatbelt before I drive off. When I get gas, I check my tire pressure before I leave the station. I make sure my car has its regular maintenance. I drive with my radio on low volume and my cell phone is on mute. If I am planning on going out for the weekend. I will make sure I don’t stay out all night and since I know I will not have an alcoholic drink. I would order a virgin drink and tell them I’m driving so they know if someone does order me a drink to make it with no alcohol. I also make sure that I eat a lot and either have seltzer water, coconut water or a soda. I have educated a few people on how driver education class is helpful and not a waste of time. Advised on how stopping at the red lights, stop signs, make sure you do the speed limit and staying off your phone, not drinking and keep the music on low volume. There are so many things that go into safe driving that you can’t just pick and choose what’s more important because every aspect of safe driving is important.
