The importance of drivers safety

I believe studying the drivers’ handbook and attaining the knowledge and applying it when driving will help reduce the number of deaths. Following the law is a big help for drivers if everyone would follow it. There are certain precautions to take and rules to avoid accidents. I feel as though drivers know the law but if they break a minor driving law they believe they can continue doing so until something occurs. Citizens know the law but sometimes choose not to follow them whereas if they followed the law deaths could be avoided.

What steps can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving? The step that can be taken to reduce the number of deaths related to driving is for one, following the law. There are many other ways. For instance, watching your surroundings, not drinking and driving, not texting and driving, reaching for things, etc… I also believe being mindful of other drivers can be a big help.

Have you ever had an experience of being in a car accident or have seen your friends or family members driving irresponsibly? I have never experienced being in a car accident myself but my parents have on multiple occasions. They were driving on the freeway and a drunk driver in a truck came and hit their van out of nowhere and spun the vehicle off the road. I also know my parents, they text and drive and talk and listen to music and are easily distracted. I was not there but I believe this could have been avoided if my parents paid more attention ahead of time to get out of the way of the driver.

What steps can you take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others become safer on the road? Steps I can take to be a better and safer driver on the road would be watching all 3 mirrors. If I want to listen to music, play it before I start driving and not during. Steps others can take I would say to be mindful of the road and to abide by the drivers handbook as well as myself. In the process of learning to drive, I was scared and nervous to get on the road. I had to lose the anxiousness. What helped me was practice of course but I studied my handbook and knew everything I was and was not supposed to do. The most common mistake people make driving is being distracted by devices. I also see some people not wearing seatbelts in a rush or a hurry and often end up in accidents.

A lot of people don’t make driving a big thing when it is. They are so accustomed to driving all the time that they get too comfortable. When you are a driver, you are also responsible for the passengers’ life whether you want to be or not. Everything you do, you have to remember your life, and the passengers’ life is at risk.

Driving attentively will also prevent deaths. Your posture can have some impact on how you drive. Road rage is a very common cause of death as well. Some people get angry when people cut them in line or honk their horns and some people have no self-control. You must also be very disciplined when driving because some people are reckless and regardless if you have nothing to lose, other people may have. Every day when you get in a vehicle your life and plenty of others are at risk. Eating while driving can be distracting and another cause of death Never get into a vehicle intoxicated. A few tips for safe driving: Starting, Turning, Reversing, Changing lanes, Overtaking, Parking, Speeding, Driving on wet roads, Driving on hills, and Road signs.

When starting: the dashboard panel has indicators, that show oil, and fuel. It is beneficial to look at those when starting. When turning: Use correct indications while turning. While turning left or right use the turning indicator lights. When reversing: Make sure you are mindful of vehicles behind and in front of you. Look in all mirrors and also people crossing roads, and back slowly and cautiously. Changing lanes: Make sure your path is clear and the correct lights are on to change lanes and make sure other drivers are aware. When parking: Park the vehicles only in places where it is permitted to park. Do not obstruct or cause inconvenience to others when parking. Be careful of driving and the safety of you and others!!!
