How Drivers Ed changed my life

How
Drivers ed changed my life

On a joyful day,
me and my cousin decided it was time to have Drivers Ed
course. Little did we know that decision would change our perspective
on life and death decisions, forever.

Ms.Hall is a
drivers ed teacher who had lost important people to the mal use of
the wheel. She knew the importance of teaching us the consequences of
our choices behind the wheel that have an impact on us and on others.

On an emotional
video a 45 year-old mother helped her 18 year-old daughter to pack
her stuff for college, little did she know that would be the last
time she saw her daughter when a driver influenced by the effects of
alcohol crashed into her vehicle at a rapid speed. Killing her
instantly. Her daughter is gone, but the suffering remains on her
beloved ones. That life will never come back.

A similar accident
that happened near my school.A football player,16-year old went to
pick up his cousin after a party. His life too was taken from us due
to an intoxicated driver. We had to fundraise for his funeral.

To stop these
tragedies we must remain selfless and caring towards one another.
Remember that whenever we are under the influence of alcohol we are
not only putting ourselves in danger but others too and they might be
gone, but that pain prevails within their loved ones.

With that said
more Drivers Ed should be applied, the punishment for
drinking while driving should be harsher, even taking their licenses
on the first arrest casualty.

I come from a
third world country. Oh beautiful Mexico you still have a lot of
things to learn and teach. We do not get punished for not wearing a
seatbelt! Our drivers ed is pretty primitive and many of the
valuable lessons on safety on the road I learned here in the
beautiful America. So thank you. For teaching me and my cousin those
precious values, regardless of our culture. It is truly tragic the
amount of people that die in Mexican territory because of intoxicated
drivers, including my friend Marlen’s dad. May he now rest in peace
and all the souls lost behind the wheel.

I know for sure
that when I have my driver’s license I have my life and others in
hands.I have swore to not drink while driving or text,to wear my
seatbelt and most importantly to be selfless and caring towards
others. I know by doing this I will inspire others to do the same. I
know that we can significantly reduce the casualties on the road and
I know that Drivers Ed did a wonderful job on teaching me
those valuable lessons.

Thank You
