Driving Education equals safer roads

Miá Bivins

Primarily,
the importance of drivers ed is very pertinent in keeping the
roads safer since the drivers will have more education in how to keep
the roads safe. Driving education can be expensive, however, there
can be discounts on insurance once the driver is insured so that way
the education is still considered to be beneficial. This is just
merely just the first step of reducing the number of deaths caused by
driving. If more people knew how to drive correctly and patiently,
then there would be a significantly less amount of driving deaths
overall. Also, awareness is the second step of knowing how to
correctly drive the vehicle at hand and also be aware of one’s
surroundings while driving. Being more aware can aid a person in
safely changing lanes and signaling when they are about to turn to
help other drivers be aware of what one is completing with the
vehicle. Unfortunately, I have experienced a bad car wreck back in
August of 2019. My car was completely totaled, but luckily, I came
out alive. The person behind me was reaching for his wallet and
rammed me into another vehicle in front of me on the highway. I was
mortified and wondered couldn’t the person behind me just pull over
to the side of the highway to retrieve the wallet? It made me think
if he paid more attention and would have been more aware, then I
would not have been in an accident. Now whenever I drive, I am always
conscious of people driving behind and in front of me. I follow the
speed limit as closely as possible and make sure to always indicate
with my turn signal with which direction I will be going. Driving is
very essential to me since that is how I commute to work and college,
and I would like for others and myself to arrive where we go safely.
