a Life

Life
is the most precious thing we have as humans, and if you take one
away, you can not return it. Many people do not understand the
importance of knowing how to drive, especially teenagers. Knowing and
being able to drive are very different, everyone can drive even me,
and I’m not able to get a permit yet. But knowing how to drive is
being aware of the consequences of not being alert on the road.

From
the moment you start to contemplate the idea of driving, you
have to be very clear about what the privilege of driving implies.
Being able to drive means that you know the importance of following
traffic regulations and the things you should not do while your
vehicle is in motion. In just a second your whole world and someone
else’s can change. My family was the victim of the irresponsibility
of a man who had been driving drunk and drugged. My uncles and three
other people died, almost more than 10 years ago. Those were very
difficult times for me and my family since they left behind four
children. Fortunately, the man was captured and sent to prison, but
his actions caused irreparable damage.

One
thing that can prevent so many accidents and deaths is creating more
awareness among youth about driving. Creating programs for schools
and making it mandatory for all, especially, those who believe that a
simple glance at the phone while driving does not kill anyone. It is
also important that people who are responsible for teens who start
driving, make sure they are old enough and have a permit to do so.
For more caution, as long as you have a permit, always drive with a
parent, guardian, or another adult with automotive experience. It is
also important to remember such basic things as wearing your seat
belt from the moment you get in your car until it stops completely.
This seems to be the most obvious rule for a driver, but young people
still tend to overlook its importance. Similarly, make sure you don’t
drive if you take a medication that can cause side effects like
dizziness and sleep. Just as you follow the traffic laws for your
well-being, you have to think about the safety of others. If you are
involved in an accident, first check that you are well so that you
can help others. It is very important to always be alert of your
surroundings in case someone needs your help. Maintaining a moderate
volume of your music is important because you can tell if an
ambulance is coming or if an accident happens behind you, that way
you can take action.

All
these recommendations seem very small but when added together they
make a difference. We can all be part of the change to create a safer
world. If you know someone who does not follow the rules, report them
for their own good and of those around them. Also, support the
different security campaigns in your community and share them with
your family and friends. By doing this you can save one more life.
