Stay Alive, be alert!

Education
on driving helps you learn the laws that keep you safe on the road.
You will need to know which traffic lights can you pass and when to
stop. If it is a red light that means you will have to stop
completely; this is for drivers to avoid road traffics and deaths.
Many pedestrians and drivers died today because of us not being
considerate. People would just drink and drive thinking it’s not a
big deal. They think that as long as you are careful and don’t over
speed, everything will be fine. It is one of the most dangerous
things you can ever do. Is it extremely important to not over cross
the laws otherwise deaths will continue to happen.

It
is important for teenagers to have education on driving because
teenagers are the ones with the least experience. As students we
learn to drive at around age sixteen; teenagers will start to get new
feelings of anxiety and will do foolish actions such as going over
the speed limit to exceed the car. Another thing that teenagers can
easily get into is aggressive driving. When aggressive and rage
driving happens it can become extremely dangerous to other drivers
and pedestrians. Teenagers of age of sixteen or seventeen will
definitely have less self control when it comes to fighting and
arguing. If another driver is driving by and trying to get on your
nerves, there are possibly things that we will do. They can try to
exceed the car by speed driving or maybe they can crash the driver
with the car because they are getting angry. These actions can happen
in not just teens, and can also be adults as well. It can have harm
on others including yourself within these actions. Schools should
offer programs about safety driving and make awareness about deaths
and violated actions.

Road
traffic is the cause of one of the world’s greatest public health
problems. In everyday, every minute, tons of people died as a result
of road crashes. One of the things that happens causing road crashes
is distracted driving. Many drivers are distracted from their mobile
phones such as text messaging, making phone calls, looking at social
media, etc. It can result in injury and loss of life. According to
the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
,
3,166 people were killed by distracted driving in 2017 alone, 8.5
percent of total fatalities for the year. (https://www.fcc.gov) Many
lives are gone because of us distracted drivers not paying full
attention. One of the common types of distraction can happen while
driving is visual distractions. Anything that looks attractive can
take a driver’s eyes from the road. It can change their visual focus
away from driving. Drivers could be looking down at their console to
view a
text
message or looking at the scenery around us. Dialing on a phone or
talking on a hand held phone can cause distractions as well. In order
to avoid using the phone while driving, one way you can do is to turn
on silence. That way you won’t hear any text noise. The reason why
people look at their phones while driving is because they hear the
text sounds. They got distracted whether it’s important or not. If
there isn’t any noise, you won’t even bother to touch the phone. If
you don’t touch the phone, accidents will have less chance to happen.

To
reduce the number of deaths and injuries, we need to be more
attentive while driving. If you were driving, you should be aware and
look around you. You should not just look straight in the road. You
also need to be attentive with the left and right side of the road.
It is extremely important to be aware of things happening around us;
always be considerate and remember to use the yield right of way
while
driving.
It is one of the most important laws to follow, especially for new
drivers.

During
around last year in spring, my mom was driving home from work at
night. She was waiting at the traffic light to turn green and was
about to make a turn at the intersection. As she was about to turn, a
car crashed and hit my mom out of nowhere. The car registration plate
got wrecked and also the left side door broke. My mom was alone in
the car. There were no passengers. Unfortunately, the other driver’s
car has a sick passenger in it. He called the cops and said my mom
hit him. My mom was just about to make a right turn on the
intersection. Although she was looking at both sides of the
intersection, she didn’t even see any cars coming by. My mom said she
saw him holding a phone while they crashed but he blamed my mom for
not being careful. The passenger in the car passed away and blamed my
mom. It is her fault. But the truth is that the passenger was already
sick that time. It wasn’t because of the crashing . The driver tried
suing my mom; the Geico company would have to help my mom to take
care of this case in court. The case has been going on for almost
half a year. I can’t believe some people are so irresponsible and put
blame on others when it’s actually their own fault.

Educating
people about safe driving gives us good consequences. If we are drunk
driving, speeding, distractions, and text while driving, we could end
the lives of many people including ourselves. You need to take the
laws and signs seriously. Crashing deaths isn’t a joke. It is
extremely dangerous to jeopardize other pedestrians and drivers.
Although you might not be thoughtful of others to get injured, but
how about yourself? Do you want to experience the consequences of
having a road crash? Do you want to put yourself in danger? Do not
wait until an accident happens to you because you do not know if you
are going to make it alive.
