Safe Driving
Many people die each year
because of car accidents, even if you are a good driver, that does
not mean you can be involved in accidents. Educating drivers can help
with reducing the amount of deaths from driving. When people are more
knowledgeable about driving, they will hopefully be better drivers,
be more careful on the rode, and be more inclined to follow the rules
of the rode without a police officer around. Having Drivers Ed in
schools can help, there is Drivers Ed at some schools, but a lot of
schools do not have it. Also, having a class every few years about
drivers ed, it can be in person or online, because when you
have a job, you have a busy life and may not have as much free time.
The class could probably be about half an hour, just to refresh some
things, and if there are new rules, it will go over that.
There was this one time that
I was in an accident, it was a small one and the only damage to my
mom’s car was to the front left headlight. We were almost home, we
were turning right when the car behind us was speeding, tried to pass
us as we were turning, and ended up hitting the front left of my
mom’s car. The man stopped, and he and my mom both waited for the
police to come, and that was the end of it. Although the man was
speeding, he did stop and take responsibility for his actions.
Lastly, the steps I can take
to be a safer driver, is to be more aware of my surroundings while I
am driving. There have been a few times, while I have been driving
and a child goes into the street and it is frightening when that
happens, and it happens a few times because there are young families
in my neighborhood. Although I also stop when that happens, I think
that if I am always being watchful, especially in neighborhoods, I
can avoid a tragic accident. Also, not being a reckless driver, and
not speeding, even if there is no officer around. I always try not to
go more than five over the speed limit, because I do not want to get
pulled over, also I do not want to be the cause of an accident.
