Drivers ed Initiative Award Scholarship

Over
the years driving on the road has become more dangerous because
people are not paying any attention to the road. Teen drivers are
more likely to get into a crash because of this. The people who take
a drivers ed course have a lower risk of a car crash. Is there
nothing that can be done about the car crashes caused by 16 and 17
year olds?

By
taking a drivers ed class people can learn the rules of the
road. Drivers ed is essential if the student wishes to be
more confident in knowing what to do behind the wheel of the car.
This can help reduce car crashes because the students become more
aware on of what is happening around them. Teens are 3 times more
likely to get into a car crash. They are likely to be on their phones
and other electronics rather than pay any attention to the road.

Some
safety precautions that you can take to help those around you are if
you have been drinking or doing drugs, then you should not be driving
because you have something in your system that affects the way that
you drive. Keeping your car in good condition will also help you.
Last thing is to protect yourself and others while driving. This
means wearing your seatbelt when you or another person is driving.
Also don´t speed take your time when pulling out into traffic around
others

While
me or my family have never been in a car crash I found an article
that interested me about an accident . According to HG.org the
article that interested me was about a 17 year old boy and an elderly
couple. The 17 year old boy was under the influence of drugs and
alcohol while driving. The elderly couple did not know what hit them
because they died immediatly on impact of the cars colliding. The boy
lost control of the vehicle and he swerved into the railing on the
other side of the road. He suffered severe injuries due to the
impact.

Is
there nothing that can be done about the car crashes caused by 16 and
17 year olds? According to the research I have done, there are many
ways that car crashes can be stopped by 16 and 17 year olds. Parents
can teach their children how to avoid car crashes by setting a good
example. Some other steps we can take to become safer drivers are:
don´t be on your phone just put it away and out of sight, don´t
play loud music when you are in the car just turn down the volume,
and don’t drink and drive.
