Drivers ed

In
life, there are innumerable menial things we take for granted on
account of being fortunate enough to experience them. Driving, a
convenient mode of transportation, is often taken for granted
because of how accessible it is in today’s society. Since it is so
convenient, we often forget the level of responsibility that is
required. Subsequently, the number of deaths due to automobile
crashes have steadily increased over time, and it is paramount that
we take steps to reform that tragic statistic, such as better driver
education, personal steps to ensure better driving, and more
enforcement of the law.

Initially, we need to
recognize the essential role drivers ed plays in ensuring a
safe environment is created for drivers to get to their desired
destinations. It ensures that drivers not only understand that they
are accountable for their actions, but how their actions have
consequences that are much bigger than any singular person. The same
statistics that prove the horrible truth of the increased death rates
indicate that drivers ed is connected to lower rates of
accidents and convictions. It results in less distracted drivers, and
drivers understand the implications of getting behind a wheel better.
As a result, they are less likely to take ‘calculated’ risks that
can do more harm to themselves and others.

Additionally,
to ensure that reforms are made to the society we live in, we have to
enact it first. This starts with more strict enforcement that is
carried out to guarantee that drivers will take their actions more
seriously. Supplemental to that, stricter laws can be created in this
campaign to save more lives. However, first we have to take
accountability for our own actions. Fortunately, I have never been in
a car accident. Although, several notions have been instilled into me
concerning being a safe driver. No matter how assured you are of your
abilities as a driver, you should never overestimate yourself.
Subsequently, do not overestimate your ability to multitask or
fortune with taking unreasonable risks. You should know yourself as a
driver, and limit unnecessary distractions that impair your
judgement. Obviously, do not take any substances that would impair
your judgement, and then think it is safe to drive. Also, drive at a
speed that you deem is safe based simultaneously on the conditions
surrounding you and road signs. Furthermore, assess your abilities as
a driver frequently.

All
in all, if we all play our part, those statistics can drastically
change. However, it is more than a number; it is a frightening
reality that can just as soon affect you as the next person. Needless
to say, this will not change expeditiously, and it will be an
extensive, exhausting process. Change is never accepted right away,
but the reality is it necessary for everyone to live the life they
desire.
