Solution to Gamy Driving…

An educated driver is a safe
driver on the road. Globally, nearly 1.25 million people die in a car
wreck every year. This adds up to 3,300 deaths a day and 20 to 50
million people who are injured or permanently immobilized due to car
crashes. Many of the crashes occur due to irresponsible drivers and
lack of driving education. Over 90% of the world’s fatal car
crashes occur in low- and middle-income countries. This is quite a
high percentage for countries with less than half of the world’s
vehicles. According to statistics, road crashes are among the top 10
primary causes of deaths, ranking 9th. It is predicted that if
necessary action is not taken in time by the traffic police and
similar establishments, road crashes and injuries will climb to being
the 5th leading cause of death by the year 2030.

Many
argue that most of the drivers involved in car crashes are young
adults. After thorough research, it was found that indeed more than
half of all the deaths occurred during road crashes were among young
adults. Around 400,000 people under the age of 25 die due to car
crashes every year. For young adults between the ages of 15 and 29,
car crashes are the leading cause of death and the second leading
cause of death for those between the ages of 5 and 14.

Serious
car crashes not only cost lives but are also a major financial strain
on economies. Globally, car crashes cost around $518 billion. The
economic pressure is worse in low- and middle-income countries, since
for them, the crashes cost up to $65 billion annually.

Road
safety is a shared concern. Everyone is obligated to take care of one
another while driving on the road. In order to reduce the risk of car
crashes, injuries, and fatalities, the traffic establishment must
provide citizens with strict rules. These rules should be well
structured and publicized to the society by the government and other
similar organizations. The most important job of the establishment is
to inculcate a sense of accountability among citizens so that they
consider their social responsibility and commit to following these
rules that have been established for their safety.

When
writing this, I can recall when once I was in a car accident with my
family — it seemed like it would be the end of us. My immediate
reaction was to offer prayers, and I had a flashback of all the sins
I had ever committed. All I can say is that it was horrible. We were
in an Uber, and it would be safe to say that the driver was sleepy.
He was driving the car in such a way that it was hitting speed
breakers. It was 2 a.m. and we hit a pole. I was injured and had to
get a few stitches. Luckily, my brother, who was sitting in the front
seat, was safe, as he was wearing a seat belt. The driver was also
safe since the airbag opened. I was the only one who was hurt, which
is a little unbelievable since I was sitting in the back of the car.
From that day until now, driving safely is something I pay the most
attention to. It seems like that experience happened just to give me
a wake-up call and so that I can help people realize the importance
of driving safe.

To
reduce the possibility of getting into a car wreck, it is important
to practice certain measures. Car maintenance is a number one
concern. It is very important to keep your car functioning at its
best in order to make yourself and other people safe on the road.
Setting a monthly schedule for inspection will not only save you on
the road but will also save you hefty upkeep bills. To ensure your
car is in top-notch condition, inspect a few parts of your car every
month or two. Refill or replace your car’s oil, if needed, to
guarantee a smoother and safer drive. Keep an eye on your car’s
water levels and make sure your car’s electronics are in good
condition. It’s important to have spare light bulbs and fuses in
your car’s trunk in case of emergency. Furthermore, make sure you
thoroughly examine your car’s tires. Their tread depth should be at
least 1.6 mm; this can be checked quite easily by using the penny
method — if the top of your tread reaches Lincoln’s eyebrows on
the penny, your tires are in perfect condition. However, if they only
reach the top of his head, then you need to trade in your tires for
new ones. Moreover, examine your tires for any tears and splits to
confirm whether your car is safe to drive or not.

Another
concern that arises while driving is changing weather conditions. You
need keep good control of your car during bad weather, such as heavy
rain, snow, or ice. Due to the lack of friction between the tires and
the road during dangerous weather conditions, the braking distances
decrease. This increases the amount of time it takes for your car to
stop once you engage the brakes. Therefore, you must take extra care,
be more alert, and keep a safe distance from the car ahead of you in
such weather conditions.

The
best way to be a responsible citizen and a safe driver is to ensure
that you eliminate all interruptions and distractions while you
drive. Although gadgets like mobile phones, car maps, laptops, and so
on are helpful in daily life, they can become big distractions while
driving. Therefore, it is recommended using hands-free devices
instead. Finally, be sure to be fully awake, as my life experience
shows — driving while sleepy is as bad as driving drunk. Be alert,
undistracted, and fully awake when on the road and you will save
lives — including your own.
