“Driver
Responsibilty and Safety”
The importance of drivers ed, is one that every first time
driver should take. Drivers ed helped me not only to learn
the rules and regulations of the road, but also how to drive safely.
The written course taught me the safety of all the road signs, and
rules. The driving course was incredibly helpful with teaching me
how to drive and giving some scenarios. A car is not a toy, and
driving is not a game. It’s a privilege given to us, that we
accept and can be taken away at anytime.
The number of deaths that occur from driving is unfortunately high.
It comes from people not having the experience in driving, not
knowing or caring about the rules of the road, and carelessness.
Drivers ed helps to teach and guide the student to help them
understand more of what could happen and keep us safe. Safety is one
of the greatest importance while driving. Majority of people with
drivers ed understand that safety is the main priority.
There are many steps to help reduce the number of deaths related to
driving. Staying alert, staying focused and paying attention, not
only to your own driving, but the other drivers as well, are a few
and most important steps.
I have had the experience of being in an accident on my own. The
cause of the accident was due to me not paying attention. Yes, I was
taught to pay attention by my parents, but the result of not paying
attention to every little thing caused me to hit another driver.
there are so many distractions while you drive and one little
distraction can cause you to have a fender bender which was what
happened to me. I have learned my lesson and it is quite the
awakening when it happens. As a teenager you think nothing will
happen and that you know everything there is to know, but when it
does happen, it’s a scary thing to go through and then you think a
lot more as you drive.
To become a safer, more responsible driver on the road you should
make sure you are alert to everything around you, stay focused on the
road and get rid of all distractions in the car, be aware of your
surroundings, watch out for other drivers pay attention to the road,
do not rely on what you think other drivers will do and lastly, do
not speed. Speeding does kill, and there is no reason to go fast.
Give yourself plenty of time to get somewhere because you never know
what is already happening out on the roads.
In conclusion, Drivers ed is the most beneficial classes to
take to teach and learn from. Every person can and will learn
something from these classes. I would recommend these classes to
everyone. Accidents happen, but knowing the safety and all the steps
definitely can help a young driver to be a better driver.
