driving can be scary but it doesn’t have to
When you turn 16,
it is an age of passage that everyone can’t wait to take. You get
to take your permit test to see if you can start driving then 6
months later to get to take the driving test! First person in you
group to pass is valued and the first person who is going to get to
drive you and all your friends around, to start making those fun
memories. I honestly love to drive and sing in the car especially in
the summer with the windows down and feeling the warm breeze, hanging
with your friends making great memories. Driving can also be a scary
thing because you don’t just have to worry about your driving, but
you must watch out for others. I have only been driving around for 3
years now and not as long my aunts or uncles, but my aunt use to pick
me up from school and she would have her phone on her dashboard,
playing a show and she would do that while driving. I would be scared
out of my mind thinking what if she looks down to watch and some car
comes out of nowhere, we could die! Her daughter would also be on her
phone while driving and I remember we were on the expressway and she
got on her phone to text someone back when she began to swerve and I
could hear cars beeping, I have witnessed many people driving
irresponsibly and that is scary. I have also been in two accidence, I
was not driving, my cousin was driving me to work when she began to
start a conversation some person backed into her car and you could
just hear a huge crash sounds, it was my first time in a car accident
and I will always remember it. Another time is when my dad was taking
me to work and we just left United Dairy Farmers and was pulling into
the turning lane and some car hit him, both events were scary and
showed me to be very observant and pay attention to others. Steps you
can take to be a better and safer driver as well as help others be
safer on the road. I know this is something you constantly hear but
do NOT use phones while driving, anything can happen in a split of a
second. I have been in the car with people who look at their phone
while driving and it scares the living crap out of me. That person is
risking their life and yours, and you did not agree to that. Being on
your phone while driving is such a risky thing and you are putting
others around you in danger. If everyone focused on the road there
would not be as many accidents, most of accidents are caused by
younger drivers and it’s because they are so obsessed with their
phones. Steps that can help reduce the number of deaths related to
driving, do not drink or use drugs while driving. Also, follow all
the traffic rules and pay attentions to others around you, drive when
you’re well rested and be observant. Drivers eds is very
important, I think when everyone takes the four-hour class to get
your full license, they should do a section for driver safety. I
think driving school can teach you the basic traffic laws while
driving and what to do in the worse scenarios. If everyone does this
and knows the basic rules, then the roads will be a safer place!
