Safely Can Save Your Life
In
order to drive you first must take drivers ed and pass a
drivers test. The reason it is important to complete this step before
being able to drive is because it is the safest way to learn how to
drive. This course teaches us everything we need to know about
driving. This makes it safe for us to be on the road and saves us
from getting in a car wreck and severely injuring yourself or worse
losing your life. Deaths because of driving can be caused by many
things such as being intoxicated, texting, being tired or just not
paying attention to the road. To reduce the number of these deaths,
we should always turn our phones off and put them out of our sight.
If you are going to be drinking, arrange for someone to either drive
you home or come pick you up, do not try to drive yourself even if
you think you can. Always make sure to keep your eyes on the road and
use your mirrors, don’t turn around to scold your kids or zone out.
If you are tired, don’t go out or get someone else to drive you
where you need to go. I have personally never been in a car wreck,
but I have seen at least three of my family members die from getting
in a car accident. Now these wrecks were very severe, but I have also
seen someone become paralyzed because of a wreck. My friend rear
ended someone and broke his hip because he was texting and driving.
Sometimes I see my friends trying to use their phones to get
directions while driving and I always tell them to keep their eyes on
the road and let me or someone in the car who is not driving to look
up the directions. I can make sure that my phone is on silent and not
where I can get to it. If I need to call someone or get direction I
can get my brother to help me. If i am ever too tired to drive to
school, I will ask my mom to get up and drive me. I can also make
sure my music isn’t too loud and I don’t zone out. I have a habit
of going over the speed limit and not realizing it, so I can work on
checking my speed every five or ten minutes. To help others, I can
pass out flyers in my school with public service announcements on
them. I can also Put warnings in social media and if I witness them
doing something wrong first hand I can correct them. Please obey the
laws and drive safely because one day it might save your life.
