Importance
of Safe Driving

There
is a large range of drivers on the road, from teens to elders.
Everyone on the road, no matter the age is supposed to have a
license. This ensures that everyone is qualified to drive. However, a
license does not always ensure common sense and responsibility on the
road. Instead being safe and making smart choices is all up to the
driver. Safe driving is very important because accidents can happen
behind the wheel in a split second. Drivers ed is one thing
that will help people know all the rules and tips that come with
driving. Every driver should have to take a drivers ed course
before they get their license. I also believe that drivers should
have to take a drivers ed class every 10 years to freshen up
on the rules of driving, just to ensure safety on the road.

Deaths
due to driving are very common, so many accidents happen everyday.
Most of these accidents could have been prevented if the drivers had
been more cautious and aware of their surroundings. Distracted
driving is also a major cause of accidents. While driving you should
never be on your phone, and you should refrain from doing anything
that distracts your mind from driving. So to be safe drivers, people
should stay off their phones and they should refrain from eating
while driving. These things alone will help reduce the number of
deaths caused by driving.

I
personally have been in the car when my mom was T-boned by another
car. This accident was not her fault, instead it was the other
person’s fault because they were texting and driving and ran a red
light. My whole family was traumatized by this event, and if that
person has not been texting and driving, we would have been spared of
this burden. The fact that more people have been killed by driving
accidents than most wars, is an issue, one that needs to be fixed.
And mandatory drivers ed would be a great help in fixing this
grave issue.
