Did you know 3,482 people die
due to motor collisions every day? As a student just coming out of
driving school, I seen videos of crashes, people in shock, and dead
just because of the simple things they shouldn’t have been doing or
should have been doing. This matter is of upper most importance
because if you are not driving safe then you’re putting yourself,
the people in your car and the people on the road at risk. But if
kids are properly educated, we can reduce the number of fatalities so
we can help this country be a safer place for drivers and
pedestrians.
We
can tackle this all sorts of ways but let’s start off in the
classroom. We must make sure the students are getting their full 30
hours of instruction, so they know the do and not to do’s. If we
slack off and do not give them their full 30 hours, the students will
not take driving seriously which can lead to carelessness on the
road. I have not witnessed a car accident with my family or friends
which brings me to another step which is the driving coach. The
driving coach should be actively mentoring the rookie driver on what
to see, evaluate then to execute while on the road. Being with my
driving coach has helped me understand the road a lot better because
all the questions I had about the road in the classroom my coach
could teach it to me so it is important to have an active driving
coach so the classroom needs to emphasize that.
Being
in generation z we grew up on technology but when it comes to
driving, we need to put the cellphones down. I can’t say that
enough. Nearly 390,000 of accidents are caused because of texting and
driving. You can only take your eyes off the road for more than two
seconds so if you’re on your phone on social media or just texting
someone back that is way more than 2 seconds leaving you vulnerable
to what’s going on around you In the car. So not only my
generation but everyone needs to follow this rule out of all of them.
The text or call can wait. The phone isn’t worth our lives.
If
we emphasize all of these actions in the classroom, on the road, or
just in conversation if it happens to come up and follow through with
them the country will not only be a safer place but it demonstrates
how much we care for the rookie drivers coming up. If the newcomers
see we care maybe they and everyone else will take the concept of
driving more seriously which is the goal, a safer road for everyone
to drive on.
