education is one of the key elements that goes into reducing the
number of deaths as a result of driving. Not only knowing the laws
and regulations of the road, but also following them and truly
knowing what they mean! It is also very important to go through
Drivers ed so that you are prepared to know what to do in the
event of an emergency on the road!
One
major thing is to not text and drive! That is one of the leading
factors in teen car accidents. Another step could be a state
requirement to log hours for in-car drivers ed. Also, really
regulating how much people speed or are driving too slow especially
in larger neighborhoods! With that, always making sure that the
driver has a valid Driver’s License. Finally, having a mandatory
class for High School students to get in-car driving time could also
reduce the number of deaths related to driving!
Yes,
I have been in two car accidents that were not the fault of the
driver in my car. The first one was a teen who was texting and
driving and did not see that everyone else was at a red light. Her
truck slammed into the back of our van and our van went up in the air
and crashed down. The second one, a 15 year old was driving without a
seatbelt on and the adult driver with him did not have his license on
him. They were more injured than we were, but that just goes to show
that some people are not responsible when driving.
Some
steps that I can take are always making sure I have my ID with me,
checking to make sure all my mirrors are positioned correctly, and
having an assurance that I am going to be the safest driver I can be!
Also wearing a seatbelt every time I drive and making sure all the
passengers in my car are wearing their seatbelts before I put my car
in drive!
