One Simple Mistake Can Cause A Life To Be Lost

Freedom!
That’s the first thing that popped into my head when I think about
having my own driver’s license. Hopefully, I will pass my driver’s
test in May of this year. I am diligently studying the driver’s
handbook and with the help of my driver’s instructor teaching me
what is the safest way to drive on the road. I will practice safe
driving by thoroughly following the driver’s handbook and being a
defensive driver for my being and others. I dreamt about going places
without parent supervision and having more responsibility, and doing
what I want. I am looking forward to fulfilling my freedom but of
course with caution. Driving with caution can reduce the cost of a
life.

To
reduce the number of deaths caused by driving, there’s nothing more
important than to comply with road rules, practice defensive driving,
and be responsible with the help of your adults and driving
instructors that can provide their service. As a result of their
assistance, new drivers will be better fit to drive safely. A driver
must be stable physically, mentally, and emotionally to practice safe
driving because driving when your mind is not on the road it can
cause a serious or even fatal car accident. It is the driver’s
obligation to know if it is the right decision for them to drive.
Also to educate themselves and follow the road rules. Persons should
attend training to help drivers eliminate accidents and
violations.The importance of drivers ed is to explain what is
the safest way to drive while using electronic devices such as cell
phones. Following all road signs and being aware of your surroundings
while driving.

Luckily,
I have never been involved in a car accident but I have experienced
my friends and family drive recklessly and carelessly. I can recall
at time when my friend got in a car accident while driving to work.
My friend was responsible for the accident because he fell asleep
while operating the car and hit the rear of the other person’s car.
My friend’s car was wrecked due to the accident. Luckily no one that
was involved did not have any severe injuries. I have also
experienced drivers driving irresponsibly when they text while
driving, not paying attention to the road, not using their turning
signals, and excessively speeding. Accidents happen anytime but it
can be avoided by practice of safe driving.

As
we are on the road, we need to remember that one simple mistake can
cause a life to be lost. Be mindful for you, your passengers, and
others on the road with you. Always drive with caution and respect
the rules of the road like your lifeline. Living life with our
families and loved ones is the most cherished; we don’t want to
lose them because of a reckless driver.
