Shattered Dream for Drivers ED

Our school has a
program called shattered dreams. Throughout the day students will go
missing and reappear later dressed in black. Then towards the end of
the day we were showed a video of some of the disappeared students
driving and having fun, drinking and laughing and messing around.
Then it shows them “crashing” into another car. After the video
we were taken to the scene of the crash where they held a reenactment
of what could happen. The reenactment is of a car crash, and in the
middle of the stands are two wrecked cars. Actors are placed
throughout the scene bloody or dead. The local emergency response
team shows up at the scene sorting out the dead and alive, treating
injuries. It was so real that some students had to be walked out
because they were traumatized. It had an impact on all of us because
we had no idea what was happening. Students would just disappear and
lunch and everything just wasn’t the same. It was a real eye opener
that everyone should experience because it could save lives seeing
what could actually happen and how fast a life can be taken just
because someone was unsafe while driving.
