JUST TO SAY NO
JUST TO SAY NO
Self-control
plays a huge role whenever your driving, just because a friend of
yours says “hey we got the same car wanna race?” sometimes it’s
best to say no for a variety of reasons it plays on me as well. More
than 30,000 drivers died behind the wheel for faulty mistakes they
took for a little bit of fun, or for an adrenaline rush. Whenever you
see a nice hot rod down the street racing themselves to the same
route you’re going just stop and say no. this is a very perfect
example of self-control. If you would hit the accelerator you more
likely to lose control at higher speed, wheels are spinning so fast,
a rock or a pothole can damage or destroy a car in a matter of
seconds. Maybe you would try to swerve into another direction that
will cause you to lose control of your car. Self-control really does
play a huge role in everyone, especially on the road because the
little things matter the most. Plus it puts others in danger as well,
others may have families, loved ones, even kids for them waiting for
them, just for people to run the highways at high speed, crashing
into them killing them during the process makes it for bad to worse.
People dont think about the consequences for their actions due to
self-control, or maybe they dont have many disciplines behind the
wheel. We live in a time where teenagers believe in themselves and
especially adults as well, they too confident about themselves and
drive under the influence which is a huge NO.
Driving
under the influence is also apart of deaths in drivers daily, and it
happens to relate self-control. Due to the fact that drivers become
too confident in themselves that they claim to not be under any
influence. My dad happens to drink whenever it’s a perfect time to
drink for him, wherever he goes I go because I am his designated
driver. I remembered this one time I was with him and my stepmothers’
kids were aside with me in the back seat, my dad was hammered and my
stepmother as well. He drove carefully and nearly crashed with
someone on the freeway when we were at the loop to take Lakeshore Dr,
Chicago. Surprisingly no one was injured nor anything is damaged, I
was a bit shaken but the kids were dead asleep.
Making
the road safe isn’t guaranteed because at the end of the day people
crash due to driving under the influence, Distracted Driving,
Reckless Driving, and more patrol cars in the highways and freeways.
I have seen state police patrolling in a median in highways and aside
from the shoulder lane. But people should know anything you do aside
from driving is wrong and should pay attention to the road. The
increase of officers on the road should decrease the percentages of
accidents and more safety on the roads.
