Drunk Driving and Cell Phone Usage Needs More Drivers ed

Drivers ed is
very important because it teaches youth and even adults how to be
safe on the road and what are the correct rules and laws to follow.
It can reduce the number of deaths as a result of driving because
many people break basic rules and guidelines that they did not learn
which results in car accidents. Also, drunk driving and cellphone
usage education needs to be implemented in schools or even start
classes for adults to learn more about it. These classes can show how
many deaths are related to this and teach people how to be
responsible and safe when it comes to drinking and driving and cell
phone usage. This education can reduce the number of deaths because
many people are not educated properly on the importance of not
drinking driving and using cellphones and feel as if they can get
away with it without harming anyone. Although this is not true since
there are many cases of deaths caused by this. In high school one of
my close friend’s life was taken by a drunk driver and this caused
the whole community to realize that drinking and driving is not okay
and should be taken more seriously. It should not have taken this for
the community to bring awareness to this issue, but instead education
on this should be something that is held more important. I do not
want to see more lives taken by reckless drivers so education made
more interesting and relatable can make people drive more safely. I
have witnessed many family members and friends who drive with their
cell phone in their hand and this gives much room for an accident to
happen. I believe if I spread awareness of this issue through social
media it will allow people to realize the importance of not doing
this. I can also get a phone mount for my car, so I won’t have to
look down at my phone for directions since I do travel back and forth
from school and home a lot. This will eliminate distractions and
allow me to pay attention to the road. Also, I can tell my friends
and family to not use their phone while driving or tell my friends I
am available to give rides if they have consumed alcoholic beverages.
Drivers ed is very important and should be implemented more in
people’s lives, so they know how to be on the road safely.
