When
I was younger, my stepmom would always drive well above the speed
limit whenever she felt she was running late. I remember being
incredible anxious because I knew that driving that fast was not
safe. She has told me that she never took driving classes, and I
think that plays a big role in her driving habits today. Driving
classes teach you the importance of following the rules, and what
will happen if you do not. I believe driving lessons should be
mandatory. There would be regulations about the class, incentive to
take the class and punishment if you do not. If you do attend the
class, driver’s insurance could be discounted. If you did not
attend the class, your insurance could be increased and/or you could
face fines.

Also,
if driving lessons were mandatory, then everyone would be more aware
of the necessity of driving the speed limit. With increased awareness
about the laws and regulations of the road, I believe that the
nations drivers will be more cautious when they get behind the wheel.
If drivers know the repercussions of breaking the rules, they will be
less likely to break them. I know there are those who do not follow
the rules even if they are made aware, but this would be a big step
toward the right path in insuring road safety.
