Over
the years our global society continues to grow economically and
technologically making life a bit easier each day. With there being
many advancements that have been applied to numerous aspects of
living, there has been an increase in the accessibility of citizens
to have more of these advantages. Some of these advancements include
things like more adequate education and the technology to allow for
things to be more visual and connective. With the focus of this essay
being on the importance of drivers ed to decrease fatalities
due to car-related situations, many would agree that there are many
reasons why it is imperative that citizens are formally educated
about the significance of safe-driving and good road decisions. When
thinking about the importance of drivers ed, what foremostly
stands out is the fact that in order to be deemed a legal driver in
general one needs to gain a certain amount of skills and preparations
in order to efficiently drive on the road for themselves. Once that
person gains their education pertaining to driving safely then they
can apply what they’ve learned to their new driving skills. One
reason that drivers ed should be principal in all driver’s
lives is that it not only protects their lives’ but it also
protects the other lives’ that accompany them on the road around
them. Even though accidents do happen by “accident” as to why it
is called as such, many casualty-resulting accidents also happen
because of the negligence and lack of safety of a person. Driver
education would help to promote the decrease in these type of events
because it would help in-still a responsibility in drivers urging
them to think not only about themselves but to consider the lives of
others. As time goes on there have been many rules and regulations
put into place to govern civilians into guarded driving. While this
is initiative, a numerous amount of these rules and regulations are
either not known because of the lack of drivers ed or they are
intentionally not followed because the level of consequences are
simply not “resolute” enough. It’s suggested that the only
steps that can be made in order to decrease the amount of deaths
through road-related coincidences is by genuinely but generously
increasing the degree of accountability citizens must carry when
driving on the road; through things like prioritized consequential
drivers school sentences, fines, convictions and suspensions and
others. Personally, there was an incident in my life where I too was
in an accident that was not my wrong-doing. It, thankfully, wasn’t
a physically life-changing experience but it was mentally,
emotionally, and financially one of the biggest unfortunate events
I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime. Ever since that moment, I am
a strong advocate and constantly reminding the people I know to be
strong advocates for the remembrance that our lives’ is NEVER the
only lives that matter because we live in a world where there are
many people and all of their lives matter as well!
