Accidents Before They Stop You!
When
it comes to drivers ed, I perceive it to be important. On a
scale from one to ten, I would say that it ranks up there as an
eight, almost a nine. It teaches you how to drive properly and
safely. It also teaches you a lot of good information that you might
not have learned from your family. There is a lot of important
information out there.
There
are many ways to reduce the number of deaths related to driving. The
first one that I suggest is making drivers’ education mandatory to
get a driver’s license. It could be a class at the high school or
offer it a local college. Reducing the cost of drivers ed could
be a plus. Extending the amount of time that is needed to practice
driving before someone can get their driver’s license, could
potentially help also.
One
of the most helpful things that can be done by each driver is to be
more alert and avoid driving in an impaired state. Avoiding getting
distracted while driving is important also. For example, don’t be on
your cell phone while driving. I know that there are laws in place
for dealing with these situations. Perhaps if the laws were enforced
more or stricter laws were in place drivers would be less likely to
do these things.
All
of these things are important so that people don’t drive like my
brother. He doesn’t follow the rules of the road as he should. If he
would, he would be a much better driver. He has scared me multiple
times while riding with him. He speeds and takes turns to fast. My
parents have tried to work with him also, but he chooses not to
listen. If him and many other drivers did do the right thing, it
could definitely help.
Which
brings me to my next point. It is not wise to sell your vehicle to a
family member. My brother’s car broke down. Since I still live at
home with my parents, I agreed to sell my brother my car. I was
trying to be a good sister. It didn’t work out so well.
I
personally can make sure that I don’t answer, talk, or text on my
cell phone while I am driving. Making sure that I am alert and don’t
get distracted is important also. Like all other drivers, I can make
sure that I am aware of my surroundings.
These
are just a few of the ways that accidents can be prevented. Fewer
accidents mean fewer injuries, fewer deaths, and less cost on people.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to write an essay about such
an important subject. Thank you for your time and consideration.
