I believe
drivers’ education is very important not only to have knowledge of
how a vehicle functions but for the safety of yourself and others. If
someone got into a vehicle and had no idea how to work it or drive
it, it could be fatal. Attending drivers ed classes, obtaining
a learner’s permit and eventually a driver’s license, helps
individuals learn the rules of the road and the functions of the
vehicle. By learning proper driving procedures it helps the
individual successfully operate a motor vehicle. If someone starts
driving and doesn’t use a turn signal they could be rear-ended,
which no one ever likes happening to them. Perhaps someone was
speeding because they didn’t take drivers ed and learned that
there were speed limits everywhere! They could crash into someone or
vise versa, depending on speeds it could be fatal and risk their
lives or the other parties. Deaths related to driving can be for just
about any reason such as texting and driving, not wearing your seat
belt, speeding, falling asleep while driving, and so many more. We
can reduce the number of deaths related to driving by avoiding those
types of situations. Most of those situations are illegal but, people
still do them. They have made being on your phone what so ever a
felony charge in the state of Minnesota, it definitely brings the
number of times it’s happening down, now that people aren’t just
getting tickets. You also have to wear your seatbelt in the state of
Minnesota, the police are more than happy you give you a ticket after
ticket which can get spendy. Speeding is also another one they give
you tickets for, but if you go more than 20 miles over the limit that
is also a felony charge, which is never good. I have never been in a
car accident where the person driving was being irresponsible. I have
been in accidents because of blizzards or even deer. I take steps to
be a responsible driver by always wearing my seatbelt and making sure
everyone else in my vehicle is wearing one as well. I do admit my
phone catches my eye sometimes but I try to limit that as much as
possible to avoid any kind of accident. I also follow the speed limit
in every posted area. I hope everyone decides to be a safe
responsible driver for the sake of themselves and everyone else on
the road! I hope you consider me for your scholarship, thank you for
your time.
