Can Save a Life

Approximately
more than 1.25 million people are killed and 20-50 million are
injured as a result of vehicle collisions, according to CDC
half
of which are young adults ages 15-29. The number of deaths as a
result of car crashes is little under the amount of people killed in
the Korean War. Everyday, 143 million Americans commute daily,
therefore, there’s no doubt that accidents are bound to happen.
Many people believe they are at no risk of being in or causing a car
crash; however, when people drive recklessly, they are not aware of
the fact that not only are they putting themselves at danger, but
also those around them.

It
is vital that people are well informed before taking part of everyday
American traffic. When people are educated and taught all there is to
know about the precautions of driving, a collision can be prevented
and lives saved. People should be conscious of the causes of everyday
accidents on the road and can just refrain from using their cellphone
or anything that can cause the driver distractions for even 3
seconds. People are notorious for multitasking while they drive
partly because they are in a rush, have important matters to handle,
are drunk, or for pure diversion.

Although,
these are some matters that can easily be taken care of with prior
planning. For example, if you know you are running late constantly,
simply put in your best efforts in order to prepare what you will
need the night before and go to sleep and wake up earlier so that you
have ample time to get ready. Even if you were running late, it’s
better late than never. As for the crucial job matter that needs to
be resolved, you can simply let the person/people know that you are
going to be on the road or connect your phone to your bluetooth in
your car so that minimal effort is required of you. If you decide to
go out and ingest any sort of alcoholic beverage, make sure you leave
with a designated driver.

Fortunately,
I nor any of my family members have ever been in such a perilous
scenario. However, 3,287 deaths still occur everyday as a result of
reckless driving. I have heard numerous stories of people who have
gotten into car accidents, whether it was their fault or not. Some of
them unfortunately pass away, while others are left to suffer with
permanent injuries for the rest of their lives, and others are sent
to jail. Not only are the people involved in the car crash hurt, but
also their loved ones.

I
personally have not commenced driving yet, although when I do, I will
make sure I am aware of my surroundings, assure that my phone and any
distraction is put away, and never drink before getting behind the
wheel. I will take every precaution necessary to keep myself and
those around me safe.
