Driving: Importance of Drivers ed

Did
you know more than 90 people die every day in car
accidents? That is over 32,850 people a year that die from car
accidents. In fact, the average number of general car accidents add
up to about 6 million a year. There are many ways people can
prevent car accidents. Safe driving is a serious matter and
should not be taken lightly, especially when life or death plays a
part so we must always drive with a precaution.

There
are several reasons why car accidents occur. One
main reasons car accident happen is because of
human error. When humans drive, they occasionally make poor
decisions. You are probably thinking is this the only reason why car
accident happens. No, however statistics show that over 99 percent of
car accidents have a human error factor. Studies show the typical
causes of accidents that result in death is 40 percent when driving
under the influence. 30 percent of the typical causes of accidents
are in results from speeding and 33 percent of accidents are caused
by general reckless driving. Moreover, human error is one of the main
hazards that prevents individuals from safe driving.

It
is important to reduce the deaths in car accidents and drive safely
because it can save your life along with anyone else who’s life is
potentially put on the line. One reason why people should drive safer
is because it helps keep insurance cost down, avoid traffic
violations and stay in compliance with the law. At the end of
the day nobody likes getting into car accidents. Another
way driver can avoid car accidents is to increase their
following distance when following behind somebody so that they leave
a bigger gap between themselves and the car in from of them. By
increasing your following distance, it also increases your
ability to react with enough time not to crash into the car in
front of your car. To avoid car
accidents in bad weather drivers should adjust
to the road conditions. Take driving on a dry road for example, you
can drive a specific way. If it begins to rain suddenly one
must take safety precautions and slow down 5 to
10 miles per hour slower from which they are driving.
People can also avoid car accidents by leaving
for their designated appointment on a timely
manner, so they do not rush on the road. When individuals go
over the speed limit not only are they breaking the law and creating
a higher chance of an accident, they are driving faster than
what is deemed to be safe for them. Lastly one way to avoid car
accidents is to practice good driving
skills and procedures every day until you attain
better driving habits.  Moreover, all the reasons listed
above are essential precautions for drivers when getting into a
car crash.

In
conclusion, human error is (and most likely will be for a while) the
bona fide reason why car accidents occur. Although there is a small
percent of car accidents (closely under 1 percent) that happens
because of something out of drivers control. That does not
make individuals a damsel in distress in that scenario.  Furthermore,
I wrote a few precautions that would help avoid car accidents
pertaining human error and how to prevent them.
