I
believe that drivers ed is an essential step into becoming eligible
to drive. The education needed before getting your license is
beneficial because it teaches the common rules of the road, and why
they are necessary. When I drive, I see people who do not follow the
drivers ed they went through, they never put on their indicator,
making the people behind them furious because they did not have
enough time to slow down. One simple action, could save lives
wherever you go.

People
think that since they have had 5+ years of driving experience, they
are the perfect driver and don’t need to follow the rules, but they
are wrong. Even doing something you think is okay, like rolling at a
stop sign, can lead to a horrific ending. People assume every driver
around them knows what they are going to do, but this isn’t the case.
Drivers ed is not something people should just speed through to get
their license. There is obviously a reason for having to learn the
ins and outs of the road before getting on them. Following simple
rules is not that hard. Just because you “thought it was okay” or
are “in a rush” does not mean to ignore life saving rules. Rules
are there to keep people safe, maybe it’s time to start following
them to save not only others lives, but yours too.

All
in all, Drivers ed is extremely important in proportion to saving
lives. One simple action can prevent the loss of lives, and jail
time.
