Importance of Driver Safety
Driving
is something many people do every day, this is also one of the most
common ways people die each year. Drivers ed is extremely
important to teach you the safety of driving and the importance of
paying attention to yourself and other drivers. We can reduce the
number of deaths by bringing more awareness to distracted driving.
Deaths occur each year because of people not paying attention to the
road and their surroundings. People need to be aware that drunk
driving is not the only thing that causes car accidents. Things such
as, texting and driving, adjusting the radio, talking to other people
in the car can also lead to accidents. I was in a car accident
recently due to the fact I did not want to hit a deer. Instead of
hitting the deer I swerved and slid into a hole, this was possible
the scariest moments in my life and taught me to slow down and pay
more attention while driving. A friend’s mother was also in a car
accident recently due to someone driving irresponsibly. This person
was driving way to fast and ran a red light and rear ended this
person. Thankfully only cars were damaged and it could have been way
worse but it was not. We see accidents happen every day and some
accidents do not end with just totaled cars. To become a better
driver myself I need to realize the importance of my life and the
lives of others in the car. I am going to put my phone away, not
fidgeting with the radio, and to pay attention to the road like my
life depends on it. To ensure that others are driving safely and
practicing safe driving as well, I would like to spread more
awareness to distracted driving.
