Considering the Lives of others.
The
summer of 2018 my friend had just turned 17 so she was going to take
her driver’s test to get her license. She was so excited to get her
license that she studied all night and did a few practice drives with
her mom. The next day she took the test and passed. She got her
license. Now that she was able to drive, she wanted to pick up all
her friends and hang out. It was late, dark and she began to speed
because she thought it would be cool. As she began to push 50 mph in
a 30 speed limit, she took her eyes off the road to look at her
friends and she hit another car. No one died in the collision but
many people were injured. When my friend chose to speed, she put
everyone’s life in danger.
90%
of all car crashes are caused by human error including reckless
diving. Drinking while driving, speeding, and texting while driving
are all causes of accidents. In america, an average of 34,000 people
die each year as a result of driving. Many drivers aren’t aware of
these facts and statistics when they first start driving. It is
important to thoroughly read the driver’s handbook and wear a
seatbelt. Drivers should not be intoxicated nor be on their phones
while behind the wheel. Driving is a big deal and it is not something
to play with because driving can cause car accidents. The result of
car accidents are either death or injury. There is a need to consider
the lives of others when driving reckless.
Gaining
a driver’s license comes with a lot of responsibility.
Responsibility of considering the other drivers on the road,
yourself, and the others in your car. There is a need to consider
the lives of others when driving recklessly. A driver must be
physically and mentally able to drive a vehicle. It is most important
to be in the right mindset before getting behind the wheel. It is
essential to follow the rules and a driver should also educate
themselves on the regulations of the road to guarantee their safety.
To ensure better and safer driving to all, we must follow these steps
and hopefully there will be less danger on the roads.
