Safe Driving
The importance of
drivers ed in reducing the number of deaths because of driving
is immense. If drivers are more educated about the rules of the road
and become defensive drivers, the number of deaths would decrease.
Often, accidents occur when people are not paying attention or are
texting while driving. Sometimes, people may even get into accidents
because of road rage. If everyone is required to take defensive
driving classes before they receive their license, this can ensure
that the drivers out on the road will be safer. I have been in one
car accident before, where I was rear ended by a woman who was
texting and driving. It was a scary experience, and I’m glad that
we were both fine. However, had she not been texting while driving,
it would have saved us and our insurance companies a lot of trouble.
To be a better and safer driver, I use the Do Not Disturb While
Driving feature on my phone, so that I am not tempted to use it on
the road. I also do not eat while driving, and always have both hands
on the wheel always. I am cautious and aware of my surroundings. When
it comes up, I like to express to my family members and friends that
they should do the same to be safer out on the roads.
