In a Blink of An Eye
In
the midst of your everyday commute to work, school, or picking up
family, there could always be that one split decision that determines
the fate of you and everyone around you. At any given chance, you
could or there could be a car crash right in front of you or next to
you. Although some of these accidents may not be able to be avoided,
there are plenty of safety measures in the car that people neglect
that will help prevent serious injuries would be seatbelts.
Seatbelts have been
in a part of cars for decades now because of the high probability of
it saving you when you get into an accident. However, an estimated
22% of americans do not use seat belts because they think it is not
necessary or fail to use them in general. In addition to that, people
who get into car accidents without a seatbelt withstand more injuries
than people with their seatbelt on. The use of a seatbelt would be to
protect your body from vigorous movement and flying out of your seat
when there is a crash. It can also be used to keep you in your seat
in case of an accident that would lead to the car being tipped to the
side or upside down. In life, people would take for granted all of
the small things they have that keep them safe and not putting on
your seatbelt would be one of the most common neglected things. The
seatbelt’s only intention is to protect you and hold you down in
your car when you are driving to avoid serious injuries. It only
takes a few seconds to put it on and those few seconds is all it
takes to avoid fatal injuries in your everyday commute and car
accidents
In the end, there
should be more awareness when it comes to seatbelt use because it is
the easiest thing to do that will help prevent the most injuries.
Next time you decide to go on a ride, imagine what would happen if
you got into an accident and flew out of the car because of the
crash. Seatbelts can avoid your fatal injuries and protect you from
those incidents.
