Alcohol is very much a part of the world we live in. We
watch TV and we may see at least five different commercials about
alcohol. It pretty much encourages you to go get a beer, or if you
don’t drink, makes u want to go try it out. Also, when you listen to
music, they sometimes mention different kinds of alcoholic drinks,
more so the expensive kind but the influence is still there. So when
in parties, in high school or college, there is usually alcohol
somewhere there. This is sort of okay, when you are in the house, but
when step foot into the driver’s seat of a car, then there is a
definite problem.
Soon as you step foot in the driver’s seat of a car, you are just
asking for trouble. Alcohol is a depressant, which slows down the
processes occurring in the brain. Alcohol actually makes you LESS
alert, but at the same time gives you a strong but false sense of
confidence. So you will basically be driving and not really paying
attention, but to top that off, you’re not sure if you feel right
driving. Just for visualization, imagine you are driving along the
road in snow, you feel like you’re going to make a mistake, and if
something were to suddenly happen, you wouldn’t know what to do. If
the person in front of you were to suddenly brake, what do you think
would happen?
Alcohol also affects your judgement. It makes it hard for you to
determine certain distances and speeds, which makes you a lot more
likely to have an accident. When drunk, you could feel as if you were
going down the road at speeds no higher than 35 miles per hour, but
in reality, you are actually going about 60 miles per hour, on a back
road. Now if there was a cop sitting around and saw you driving at
speeds that high, he would surely pull you over and the consequences
would not be pretty. You could have your license revoked, you can be
arrested and you would have a record.
Alcohol can slow down your
reactions. Drinking affects the impairment of your body . It can be
the most Drivers come in many different types, and
each has their own characteristics. When driving on the road, one can
experience several different kinds of drivers which can be divided
into three major categories: bad drivers, good drivers and ugly
drivers most drivers want to reach their destination as fast as they
can. However, not all drivers get there the same way. How they get
there depends on which category it is. First of all, the bad drivers
can be described as the morning mad-honker. These drivers are only
experienced in a busy town in the morning. They are characterized by
hollering, blowing of the horn, and anger. It is believed that their
anger is derived from their procrastination in the morning as they
prepare for work. Because they typically run late, they tend to
speed and often cut off other drivers in the mornings. They can
be observed swerving in and out of lanes in order to get back
the
time they wasted. In bumper to bumper traffic, they often honk
and yell, as if the noises will make the vehicles in front of
them move faster. People are not accepting of these kind of
drivers because they believe that these bad drivers could cause
accidents Secondly, in contrast to bad drivers are good drivers, who
make up the majority of drivers. These drivers can be seen in all
places. Because they always obey all the driving laws, they will
get to their destination with the least amount of trouble.
For
example, a good driver is usually relaxed and constantly drives
within the speed limit because he always manages to leave his house
early to assure that his arrival at work will be on time. Most
importantly, good drivers respect the traffic laws and their fellow
drivers. My father often cautions me that I must be more careful
when driving with others than when I am driving by myself
