Be careful behind the wheel, The danger out here is real

Freedom,
independence and fun. I’ve held my permit for nine months and it’s
finally time to attend driving school and make that trip to the MVA
to attain my very own drivers license. As I’m driving to the MVA
nervous but excited about the future road trips and car jams to be
had with my high school crew. As I turn left heading to the area that
reads “ Road Test” on a iridescent red sign, I look to my mom and
say “Can you believe I’m about to be dr- “Screeeeech!” She
quickly was able to pull over on the rear side of the highway. Terror
and tears of sadness fills my eyes. A man mid twenties exits the car,
he’s alright, But the car and family he came in contact with are
not. Rest in Peace to Jojo, Karen and Logan. The generation we live
in relies on the developmental psychology of being able to ‘train’
an individual’s behavior to follow good standards and procedures.

This can
apply to an educator in the classroom, a boss in the workplace or a
parent in a household. The job and importance behind an authoritative
figure teaching the rules of the road in a classroom is held high.
The importance of this course in reducing deaths in its relation to
being on the road holds great weight. “The more you know, the
better”. If a drivers ed course does its job and you’re aware of
the risk that comes with entering your blue toyota everyday and
being behind the wheel, the more cautious you then can be; not only
for yourself bug others around you who sadly, may not know or have
had this education opportunity .

The steps of
reducing are simple. Make sure each teenager, even if not getting a
driver’s license knows the rules of the road and the part they play
if and when they enter a vehicle. Whether their front and center,
behind the wheel and in control of everyone’s lives or backseat
entrusting someone else with their life. The reduction of the number
of deaths on the road STARTS in the classroom. The educator has to
enforce importance and the students have to exercise willingness to
learn these important road rules. I personally have been blessed
enough to always be surrounded with people who make sure they do what
they need to get me, as a passenger, safely to and fro.
Whether that be my sister, grandparents, friends or parents. In order
to ensure the safety of me and those around me, I can take the steps
to pass on knowledge and inform those of the things I have personally
learned. Encourage others to go to the source of my own knowledge,
which is drivers ed courses. The importance of being safe so
that lives are cherished and saved need to be taken more seriously in
this day in age.
