Drunk Driving
When
I first kind of learned about drunk driving I specifically had
thought to myself that it would make sense if drunk driving was not a
big deal in the United States, in reality, it definitely affects in a
big way. When in actuality up to 29 people in the United States are
in a fatal vehicle accident and takes up to 10,000 lives a year. The
deaths also, for the most part, affect the United States economically
the damages cost up to 44 billion a year. Alcohol can truly affect
your mind and basically your reflexes, and you will, for the most
part, have generally slower muscle coordination in a really major
way. Drinking can also affect your vision and you will not really be
able to see the color of the lights correctly and mostly makes you
more vulnerable to be in a car accident. It also increases the
chances of you crashing if you definitely are underage drinking and
you’re driving license can get suspended. Utah’s drinking alcohol
average is generally 0.08 and that particularly is one of the lowest
in the United States, and still, we basically have people dying from
these fatal accidents. Some people in Utah essentially think that the
0.08 is outrageous because they positively think that they are
responsible enough to not crash and be in a deadly accident. They
also think that bars established in Utah are being affected by their
business and they are not making fairly much money as they usually
make. I would not exactly agree with them because many lives have
been taken because of really drunk driving, and a life is priceless.
This can essentially be avoided by taking the person that is really
drunk their keys that would enable them from driving and causing a
car crash. You can also call an uber for them or give them a ride
home if you are not individually drunk, but never allow them to drive
it can impact in a big way. Michelle is a victim of drunk driving and
definitely lost her fiance to a car accident, Chris Cannon, because
she was driving and a very drunk driver had hit her straight on and
was especially lucky to survive but her husband did not make it. This
was definitely devastating to her and was very heartbreaking to see
and the fiance family was sad and he was only 18 years. A man by the
name of Gary lost his wife she was 47 years old and his son a
15-year-old and daughter a 7-year-old. I personally thought this was
the saddest story of them all because he lost his whole family. And
it was the night before Christmas eve and a drunk driver hit him on a
green light and the last thing he heard his wife say was oh no and
covered his daughter.
