A Highway to Heaven State Of Mind

A
Highway To Heaven State Of Mind.

Driving,
since the day it was created, has been most people’s main
preference for transportation. It’s a smooth, convenient way from
getting from one destination to another. May it be for a basic task
such as running a quick errand to the convenience store, getting to
work daily, or a lengthy travel to visit family members in another
state, it’s a technology that has makes a difference in people’s
lives, and for some, it changes their lives for the worst forever.

It’s
so simple, the transit laws are easy to follow, yet why do so many
individuals get into traffic accidents daily, annually?

I
was able to answer this question on my own when I took driver’s
classes. When the instructor asked each one of us what we expected
out of the course, my response was ‘’To be the best driver on the
road’’. Funny how I initially believed it would be a piece of
cake, as long as I memorized the complex functions and crucial
information. But little did I know that this was easier minded than
done. When I drove down the freeways and highways during my practice,
I realized I had a hard time controlling the pressure on my foot on
the gas pedal and maintaining momentum. Also, although there are
plenty of laws, courses, road signs and warnings to guide and keep
the drivers safe, it was difficult to take notice of them while I was
focused on the road ahead. The realization made me sympathize with
the people who get into traffic accidents. I could no longer judge
them. From then on, my perception on traffic accidents changed.

I
knew that I had to take appropriate measures within myself to ensure
I had a standard driving experience. Those measures were clear;
confidence and a relaxed mind. I don’t suggest overconfidence and
dismissing safety, but beforehand preparations such as making sure
your car has no impediments that could negatively affect you, state
of mind, and road knowledge. It may not sound like much, but like the
butterfly effect, it can make all the difference. By practicing these
key things, it can result in improving your quality of life, so that
when you hit the road, you could at least feel assured and will take
precautions needed when it comes to apply them on the road. This way,
I believe traffic accidents could be minimized. I learned that there
is no ‘’best driver’’ And neither does the road need one.
What it does need, is a ‘’safe driver’’ with a confident
mind.
