This is just one of the many scary statistics facing drivers in the
U.S today. There is a huge responsibility that comes with obtaining a
drivers license and a vehicle. Cars can be very helpful to daily
life, but they are not
a necessity and they are extremely dangerous, not only the planet in
the form of carbon dioxide omissions, but to humans, including
children and even our beloved animals who are all oblivious to
oncoming traffic or the concept of driving in general. The importance
of educating yourself when stepping into a vehicle of transportation,
not only when driving, but even when becoming a passenger, is crucial
to a more compassionate, smarter, and safer society. Just the sheer
consciousness of possible disaster in a vehicle could dramatically
decrease the number of deaths by car/truck accident per year anywhere
in the world. An extra degree of cautiousness should always be taken
into consideration. We should take on the responsibility ourselves to
help educate others on the idea that anything can happen, and fast,
even to a loved one, that could alter the course of someone or
multiple people’s lives forever. On very many occasions I have
witnessed careless acts of reckless, irresponsible driving. It is
disturbing to witness first hand, as you could be affected, and more
importantly, the people around you. Personally, steps that I can and
will take to become a better and safer driver, as well as help others
become safer on the road, is to be calm, collected, and hesitant
always. There is no reason to rush, especially when operating heavy
and dangerous machinery such as a car or truck. There is nothing more
important in this world to be on time for when considering the lives
of other humans and creatures, because everyone and everything on
this earth have a purpose and for you to take that away could be
devastating to your life and many others around you.
