It
is very important for drivers to be safe behind the wheel. If new
drivers aren’t taught the rules of the road, there are so many more
risks that are prone to happen. But when we help new drivers by
teaching them what could happen on the road and how to execute
certain situations, we are preventing many accidents and even deaths.
Therefore, we must take steps in order to prevent drivers from having
accidents. Accidents usually happen when drivers either aren’t
paying attention or they try to make a risky turn. That is why we
must try to be safe behind the wheel and encourage others to be safe
as well.
There
are many steps people can take to reduce driving-related deaths. The
first step is driving instructors making sure that their students
understand all of the road rules and signs. The next step is parents
ensuring their child is a safe and defensive driver. A parent making
sure of this is very important. The last step we could take is the
new driver getting their car inspected regularly and always staying
aware and cautious while behind the wheel. A new driver must always
check themselves and be careful in order to be safe. These steps will
make sure if there is an accident, it will most likely not be the new
driver’s fault.
I
have experienced three car accidents; none of them occurred while I
was driving. The first accident was with my mom in Ocean City, MD. My
mom was stopped at a red traffic signal and the truck behind us
wasn’t paying attention and he rear ended my moms car. The next
accident my dad got rear ended at a traffic signal due to the driver
behind him not paying attention. The last car accident I was in I was
with my friends mom and my friend was in the passenger seat while I
was in the back. My friends mom was making a left and the left
traffic signal arrow turned green for her to go. But the car coming
straight decided to run a red light at 45 miles an hour and he
crashed into us. The car was totaled and we all had to go to the
hospital.
The
steps you could take to be a safer and better driver are paying
attention to everything around you and not trying to make risky
moves/turns. Accidents occur because drivers either feel risky or
aren’t paying attention to what’s happening around them. If
drivers did these things, there would be much less accidents across
the country. That is why driver safety is important when teaching new
drivers how to drive.
