Safe
Driving Tips

Three
million people in the United States are injured every year in car
accidents! Nearly every car accident is caused by not practicing safe
driving.
There
are many ideas and laws that are created to ensure a safe and
pleasurable driving experience. Some are avoiding aggressive drivers,
alertness while driving, and vehicle following distance, vehicle
speed, and special driving situations (blog.nationwide.com).

          One
of many factors in remaining safe on the roads is the ability to

control
emotions and stress. Some drivers do not know how to deal with
stress. This emotion can hinder the ability to drive safely and
ensure safety on the roads. If a driver encounters a vehicle that is
driving recklessly, and constantly following too closely, the best
thing to do to avoid a confrontation is to reduce speed and allow the
unsafe driver to pass. Do not provoke the driver.

          Accidents
are avoidable. All it takes is to be aware of surroundings. Pay
attention. Cell phones, radios, and newspapers are common
distractions while in a motor vehicle. If it is necessary to use a
mobile device, ensure that you have a hands free accessory. If not, a
driver should pull over to make the call. Never try to understand or
navigate a map while operating a vehicle. This can cause a traffic
violation, or even injure a pedestrian (blog.nationwide.com).

Never
driving while drunk or drowsy is another way to avoid getting in a
wreck and injuring yourself or someone else. Nearly thirty people die
every day from alcohol-related accidents, and 795 fatalities were
recorded in 2017 due to driving tired (blog.nationwide.com).

Practicing
safer driving will avoid any crashes or injuries. A person can never
be too safe while diving. “It’s like mama always says, better
safe than sorry” (Bobby Boucher).
