The Importance of a Drivers ed

Throughout
the years, the number of people dying as a result of driving
accidents has increased. Society needs to further their education on
driving as it leads to less deaths. This would also lead to less
victims who are killed because of others.

In order to make people fully understand the importance of being an
educated driver, there needs to be more media coverage regarding car
accidents. The news need to focus on media that will lead to less
deaths, instead of focusing on the tweets of celebrities. However,
not many teens watch the news, which should lead schools to teach
this topic in a Health class. Teaching this topic to teenagers and
emphasizing the importance of being a responsible driver would cause
there to be less fatalities for teens. By having news coverage and
lesson regarding this topic, there would be more responsible teens on
the road. Teenagers are the future of this world, having more
educated drivers at a young age would cause their to be less reckless
drivers in the future. Becoming educated is very an essential part of
everyone’s life as it does not lead to fatal victims. Due to the
recklessness of others, there are many people who become the victim
of car accidents. These innocent people die, which is why a driver’s
education needs to be emphasized in society.

Thankfully,
I have never been involved in a car accident due to a family members
irresponsible driving. However, I have been in the same car as
someone who is not driving responsibly. When I was younger, the only
person in my family who could drive was my father. This was
concerning as my father always drank liquor at the different parties
that we attended. Despite this, we were thankfully never involved in
a car accident as my father never drank to the point that he could
not take us home. Now, my father has realized that he should not
drive in the horrible state that he was in after parties. My father
drinks moderately at parties, however, luckily my older siblings know
how to drive in order to get us all home safely. Seeing my father
drive irresponsibly, has led me to deepen my understanding of
driving.

Being
in a car with a thoughtless driver made me realize that I would not
want to put someone in that situation. As a 17 year old, my father
has been pushing me to take my driver’s license test. I am
grateful, as he has given me the books he had read in order to
prepare for his exam. Nowadays, I correct my family members when they
drive too fast or are near someone who is driving carelessly. This
not only benefits the people I am with, but it also helps other
people who I am sharing the road with. As we all need to help one
another in order to live in a society where the fear of being in a
vehicle accident is not present.
