believe the testimony of one of my closest friends provides the
deepest form of the importance of safe driving. My friend was at a
party where he had been drinking and was well past the legal limit
for driving. He decided around 2 A.M. that he wanted to go home, by
this point someone should have taken away his keys, but instead he
left and 10 minutes later ambulance and fire truck sirens were
screaming down the road. Come to find out he had flipped his car into
a ditch and was trapped. The ambulance took him to the Emergency Room
where they found that he had internal bleeding in his stomach and was
sent straight to surgery. Unfortunately, my friend will never be able
to tell his family how he loved them and I will no longer be able to
tell him how bad his hair looks and how goofy he is because his last
moments were spent on the operation table. Safe driving is an
important factor in my life, I can not lose another friend/family
member/person to a preventable tragedy.
