Drive Safely

Driving safely is something we should all be aware about, especially,
in our more modern society. Knowing driving rules such as, putting
your seat belt on before driving, make sure to check your mirrors,
make sure your blinkers are working, making sure nothing is wrong
with your car before driving, and many more. These rules may seem
tedious, and tiring to do every single time you drive, however, it is
best to follow the rules. If you don’t follow the rules you have a
higher chance of dying in a crash than someone with a seat belt on.
Because the seat belt is designed to restrain you before you fly out
of your car. I’ve never personally experienced, or seen any of these
accidents happen, fortunately, but I’ve seen videos on it. It’s not
pretty.

Steps we can take to reduce the number of deaths related to driving,
is to follow the rules of driving. For example, when you set into
your car, put your seat belt on, check your mirrors, see if your
blinkers are working, and make sure you can see the road (adjust your
seat, ask yourself are you comfortable?). I talk about how we
ourselves can driving safely as if that is all you have to do to be
safe while driving; however, we need to help other realize the
dangers of driving without safely. How can we do that some may ask,
and that is a good question. Since we have the technological
advantages, we can start making posts on driving safely. Or if we
teach others and they spread the word as well. There are many ways we
can spread information about driving safely, we just need to put the
effort into doing it.

Another possibility of reducing casualties, is by being responsible
while deciding to consume alcohol or drugs. First of all, we
shouldn’t do drugs, but if I just say you shouldn’t are you
really going to stop? So, when you decided to consume alcohol, or do
drugs, make sure to NEVER drive; I mean NEVER. No matter, if you
think you’re still fine, don’t drive. Before you even decided to
do it, have someone who wants to tag along, but doesn’t want to
partake in the consumption of alcohol or drugs. Make sure they have
the ability to be able to take you home; have that person be the
driver, it will reduce the chances of getting into an accident.

Yet another way crashes happen is when people decide it is okay to go
on their phones. Phones are an addiction to most, it can be fun and
good, but it should be used at appropriate times. Pedestrians should
also hear this, do not go on your phones while walking, or driving.
Phones tend to take up our whole attention from other things around
us. If we are driving and we stopped at a red light, still don’t go
on your phones. If you think you can multi-task, you really can’t.
It is best to keep both hands on the wheel, and keep your eyes on the
road.

Although, the steps to driving safely is to some tedious and tiring,
but it is important. We need to make sure that we follow the rules,
and to make sure we put ourselves and the people in the vehicle out
of harm’s way. By doing so, we can work together to reduce the
number of deaths related to driving.
